I know it’s probably too late to salvage this plant but would like to save it if possible. The plant is small and nothing seems to help it that I’ve tried.
This is what I have done most recently to it. The plant has been flushed twice. First time was a not so good of a flush on my behalf. I flushed again about 2 weeks later with a much better flush.
This last flush, just over a week ago instead of putting fftrio back into it I put Bergmans flowertime and plant booster in it along with cal-mag and molasses. The plant fails to respond in any positive way regardless of what I do to it. Starting to see the same conditions on my other plant.
After the last flush, I also am experiencing a low ph condition of 5.8-6.0. I got the 6.0 after the last water using ph’ed water to 8.0
Trichomes on both plants are in the milky white stage. Is either one gonna make me a bowl full?
should have elaborated more clearly. sorry about that. The ppm going in was about 1500 with everything in the solution. runoff came out at just over 1000. that’s on the 500 scale for bergmans fert.
Looks like a PH Calcium issue, worse near light? Have you calibrated that meter and how big overall is that plant, looks pretty far along.
^ not plain water if your tap PH is 4.8 thats acidic big time. PH stabilized water. PH Scale is X10 per whole #
I concur with below statement… PH stabilized water to flush, collect runoff and test until those roots are in the 6.5 range…looks like your water naturally wants to be acidic, ever have a lab test done to know what minerals are in it? Acidic wells typically have little soluble calcium, but only a lab test will tell for sure.
Others who have seen similar may have better ideas. Here is my take:
If you’ve been feeding like this AND you are having trouble controlling the pH, then it may be a buildup of salts in your grow medium. Suggest a flush to clear out the salts. Give a light feeding after you flush (saturated soil doesn’t absorb nutes very well) and then begin feeding normally again on the next watering after the soil dries out.
on this plant in the picture the leaves are like that pretty much all over the plant. It’s definitely worse at the top and tapers off closer to the bottom. I just calibrated my ph meter on the last flush, just over a week ago. and they are close, trichomes are now milky.
The flower is no where near mature with all of those white pistils. Are you checking trichs on flower rather than on sugar leaves? The proper measurement is taken from trichomes on flower as trichs on sugar leaves will mature more quickly.
This is from this morning on this plant. They look milky to me but I don’t know how to interpret what I’m looking at. They aren’t the clearest pics either.
We have had our water tested. years ago. there was basically nothing in it then either. but I don’t remember any of the specifics of the test.
curious though, i have been mixing cal-mag in my water for a while now according to the label on the bottle. 1 tsp per gallon. Should I perhaps mix say, 1 1/2 tsp’s per gallon? Should I stop with the molasses? I know it’s for the microbes in the soil.
I concur with @MidwestGuy on his above statements. Getting near harvest they do tend to cannibalize themselves, but also as he stated, they look like a few weeks left and I’d only expect this if you were water only and the plant was starving. Wait for a few more folks to chime in, I’d still look at the flush with PH’d water and PH test the runoff, and TDS the runoff. It really looks like a low PH driven calcium issue to me, and its a simple test as a start point.
Thanks! I am going to flush it with ph’d and cal-mag’d water till I get the ph back up. I will add nutes at the next watering and just go with about half of the bergmans recommendation.
I just went thru some of what you are going but thru not as bad. With help from the forum I stopped giving Cal-Mag. Might be causing a nutrient lock-out.
Yeah, I know they won’t and that’s ok as long as the plant still survives. If i get anything at all out of this plant that’s smokable, it will be a win. I have already ordered everything I need to start my next grow in coco coir along with a change up in nutrient line to jacks 321. I am not going this soil route again. Coco looks like the way to go and that’s the way I’m going.
