Anything after the 4 th node is up then it’s game on.
Should leave a bit of a nub at the topping.
It will help keep the main stem from splitting later in flower when things are Heavy.

Great question and am tagging along to see your progress. As being new to the GrowGame my self, I did not topp my current grow and wishing that I would have. For my Set up in a 27"x27"x5ft once you factor the room taken up by the dirt and the light suspension from top there is not that much use able grow room…around 30" for the plant height without being too close to the light source without modifying how the light is hung from the tent bracing. I know one of my bigger mistakes I feel was I was chronically under in my PH game to around 5.5 for most of the grow and for dirt the target value should have been 6.5 to 7 PH.

I like to leave a little more stem under the cut but that’s fine.

Looks about right. 
If you have it a drop of honey on the stub will aid in healing.

Can I clone the tops that I cut off?
What I take off is usually too short for a clone.
You’d want them a bit bigger for that.
2-3 nodes is a good safe size for a cutting.

Do I top each branch whenever they get 3-4 nodes on them?

I haven’t but I believe some folks do.
