Is this Bud Rot ? Advice Needed

I’m just over 7wks into flower. I just noticed my main cola bud looks to be in really bad shape. All the other ones look great. Should I cut it off ? Will it hurt the rest of the plant ? I’m a newb and this is a first for me. Any advice is appreciated.
TIA !!!

Top pics sure looks like rot to me, and getting to the bad side!

yes looks like you got the rot…you can cut it off but watch closely because it can be in the other buds already and you just don’t see it yet…some will harvest now to avoid more and some will ride it out,…

Ok thanks ! I’ll cut it off and keep an eye on the rest of them.

Prob a dumb question but can bud rot transfer to other plants or is it just isolated to a single plant ? I have 3 more that I keep together every evening but they all look fine.

No dumb ?'s when you don’t know, and yes it can spread, catapillars, and wet damp conditions which I deal with here, sanitize anything you use to cut the rot off with before going to next plant, including hands gloves help and lots of peroxcide.

Have a little pull at all your fan leaves too, if one comes right off the stem that area probably has it too

I would cull the mold and hit your girls with this.

Sample makes 1 gallon. Useable to harvest. This is especially helpfull with outdoor. After the noticeable rot is removed stay on a preventive schedule with it. Already know susceptible.

Thank you all very much. I appreciate all the advice. Def one of the most polite and helpful forums I’ve been on.

This is a polite forum. It is monitored well and issues addressed in minutes most times.

Promise I’m not telling you what to do. As someone who fights the bud rot every fall, I have typically found that once a particular strain gets a little bit of Bud rot, I harvest the whole plant.

What I have found over the years is that that bud rot will travel through that plant, and do the damage while you dry it. If you cut it at first sign, even not quite ripe :worried:, at least you get something. If a plant rots in the stem or bud, and I try to let it ride, I usually end up having a compost plant.

My protocol is always harvest any similar strain. As in the same genetics line if you’re doing sister seeds. If I only had three plants, though, I guess I would say keep my eye on the other two. But if they’re from the same pack of seeds, I would humbly humbly suggest just harvesting them all. But that is why I always run extra plants. And always take notes. That strain would officially be culled from my grow list as not suitable for my location. Or if it was a strain I had to keep, I would try to breed it with something more hardy as a compromise.

Happy harvest to you @Plantastic

Yes, Budrot can transfer to other plants. It could eventually destroy your crop. I would remove that budrot on that plant and carefully put it in a Ziploc baggie and dispose of it in your garbage.

First of all, thank you very much for taking the time to explain all of that to me. I had no idea. This is my very first run. Everything was going so damn good too. . . Ugh

You are correct, they are all Blue Dream seeds from the same bag/seed bank. I have 5 plants in all. They got way too big for my tent so, I moved them outside. I trimmed one way down and it’s still in my tent. It started flowering about a month later and is doing real well indoors. . . . So far anyways

I’ve had an issue (not terrible but and issue nonetheless) with white flies, and caterpillars the last 3 weeks. I grow a lot of peppers in my pool cage as well and that’s not doing my green any favors.

I’ll heed your advice and harvest the plant I removed the bud from earlier today. Then on Sunday, I’ll decide what to do with the other 3 out there.

Again, thanks for explaining your experience with this issue to me.
I certainly do appreciate it !!

Done and thanks for the tip
