Would this be big enough to grow 2 full term autos? Or would they be to close together? How would it effect yeild? Limited on space. It’s a 5 gallon bucket. @peachfuzz @GreenJewels @Smokinnuggs @basementstealth

I would grow one more roots bigger fruits i think two would be crowded first grow I did was with bubble brothers it’s a six bucket system came with really nice air pump air stones and line the only downside i could find buckets were only 3.5 gallon the roots filled them really fast 5 gallon would be perfect for one girl in my opinion but these guy’s have way more knowledge than me I’m still learning

i made this after looking at everyone doing diy the pump line and stones are from the old system i used so ten bucks for 17 gallon tote. and 2 8inch net pots already had the stone dont know how limited you are on space somthing to ponder over good luck doc

I’m not a hydro grower. but advice ive read is u dont want roots from multiple plants tangled together.

@Smokinnuggs that’s to wide for the tent I’m using. But since autos are generally half the size of a photo I thought this bucket might be ok only thing is the would be close

I would not do more than one plant in a five gallon bucket and I just did two autos in my 3x3 veg tent and it was kinda crowded

I agree with gardenguy focus on one plant and take her to the extreme i tried autoflowering one time bad for me stressed them out it was a huge cluster fk nothing wrong with em just had no clue what I was doing it was also before i found this site im going to try them again one of these days had 5 critical purple kush and got just over a zip out of them live and learn was an expensive lesson

I am also not a fan of autos and have only done them a few times but to give you a idea of the size of the two I did in my 3x3 I broke a branch off a little early trying to move things around and took a picture to show a friend how they were going one plant had six just like this

I can only grow autos because of my grow area. Has a very good possibility of light leak. But from what I’ve read the right amount of light is key for growth. I have 2 135 watt quantum boards. So as long as I can get to harvest I’m sure I could get at least 3 zips. But according to ILGM stats the seeds I have could produce 5 zips. But I want to grow 2 strains and space is limited. So when I saw that bucket I thought it would be perfect. But there’s only less than 1 foot of space where the seed is dropped. I should probably just try and see what happens.
Auto flowers took forever in DWC for me. Good yield with 1lb from 2 plants, but took 22wks.

You could drop em both then when they get big enough start lst to pull them away from each other i guess would look for similar strains time wise and height wise sure wouldn’t hurt to try good luck with your mission keep your stick on the ice we’re all in this together

22 weeks seems like a long time. Did they not auto flower?
@Smokinnuggs well I ordered that bucket and some amnesia haze seeds from ILGM. I’m going to try it. Regardless I’m sure it will grow as long as I take care of them. The cheese seems pretty hard to LST it seems to stay really short but bushy.

For some reason I cannot a certain they just take longer in hydro. Soil/media growers have a completely different experience. They are FAT and happy so they don’t revert in DWC. Each plant got 5 ft tall.
The root ball will get so big you will have a hard time getting it back through the net cup hole if you do decide to split them. That bucket just doesn’t provide enough space side to side. My 2 plants took up every little bit of a 4x3 grow space.
@Smokinnuggs tote will have much more space to spread out but IMO I prefer 5 gal buckets to a tote for changing out and cleaning.

You have a tent right? Shouldn’t be difficult to make that light proof, it’s about the same as everyone else grows photos in. If you’d rather grow autos, that’s fine too.
Check your local home improvement stores for a 10-20 gallon tote with sturdy lid that will fit. I’m sure any one of the stores you walk into will have at least 1 if not several that would work.

What I can do is separate them right before flower. At that point I shouldn’t need my humidifier in the tent anymore and should be able to fit 2 buckets in the tent. Didn’t think about that yesterday for some reason. Probably the Coors.
