First ever auto grow lots of questions

I’d like to start saying I’m honored to be here. I’d like to explain where I’m at before I ask my questions.
I’ve only ever grown photos but this time I’ll be harvesting 20 white widow autos using two 4x4x6.5 tents. Six 50w full spectrum (white) cobs in each tent for light. One tent will be filled with 5 3 gallon buckets filled with a 3:1 Coco coir/perlite mix.
My other tent will be filled with 5 seperate 5 gallon top feeding buckets. Both tents being fed with the Flora micro series from GH.
Would 5 be too much for a 4x4? I’m seeing some grows with 2 foot tall plants and others with 5 foot plants. What size should I be expecting? How long is the life cycle? I’m seeing some harvests in 2 months some still stretching 4 months.
I’d just like to have a better understanding of what I’m getting into. I’ll be sharing pictures of my adventure and keeping everyone posted. My journey into autos begins next week, any advice will be sincerely appreciated!

First welcome to the community I personally think four autos is a good fit for a 4 x 4 size tent. Most of the autos I have grown tend to be bushy ranging in size in the 30 inchs. Good luck with your autos.

Welcome
I am thinking 5 will be a little much when the are full grown and they won’t get the light they need.
good luck, looking forward to seeing pics of your journey.

Five autos is a lil scrunched for a 4*4 I think but will work as long as lighting is covered… As far as time autos are just about on the money when they tell you the harvest time from seed in the description. I think @Killadruid did WW autos? You said 20 though?? Regardless welcome to the forum and just put the @ symbol in front of a name and they will know to come look. There’s some outstanding help here and best if luck @Autosversusphotos .

Autos can grow big exspecially wwa. 5 in a 4x4 will be tight but doable with training and defoliation at certain points. If u have any ? Just ask

Ya you can definitely do some LST to autos you just shouldn’t really do any topping or Fim. Reason being they have such a short veg period to recoup. Ofcourse there are always ppl that disagree regardless if so it would have to be in the first 3 - 4 weeks surely which you are well pass. Anywho get some pics up man, we all love to see pot porn…lol

Oh & @imSICKkid did WW autos too… he’ll be happy to answer some ?'s also… again good luck

Well, you CAN top and FIM an auto successfully. @Not2SureYet is living proof of that. It’s really more a matter of proper timing. I would not suggest it of a newer grower, but once you gain experience…

What exactly are you running? Is 50 watts per fixture accurate? What spectrum?

I top all my autos and everytime they end up filling up my 2x3 tent and if I didn’t tie the branches down they would be 4’ tall easily

I know it doesn’t look like much but I’ve seen some remarkable grows on YouTube

(Pic for attention)
Previous photoperiod harvest. I do have experience growing. Just never autoflower. I’m not going to do any topping or major defoliating this time around. Perhaps a screen and lst, only enough to train the canopy.
I’ve heard people advise against using hydro for autos and having different harvest times as well as plants being between 2-5 feet. I’m trying to get a better idea what to expect before beginning germination next week.
The 20 seeds will be harvested in intervals of 4-5 each month after my first harvest. With as many updates along the way as possible.
I’d like to show definitively if Coco is better for autos than hydro.

I don’t think that light will cover a 4 X 4 adequately. This may affect your growing schedule.

He’s using 3 to cover a 5x10 canopy. I plan on moving the light and if advised, putting up a net. It’s what I can fit in my budget for now. What light might you suggest? @Myfriendis410

Welcome to the forum @Autosversusphotos. First I will let you know that you seem to be set up much like my self. I grow in coco and use the GH flora trio nutes. I have grown mostly autos my self. just getting into photos. Before we start. I am not sure if you have been using coco for your photos.
One important thing you have to remember is, with coco, You have to be able to collect run off.
You will not be able to do that with 5 plants in a 4x4 tent.
Next is WW plants normally are not small. If i were growing some thing I knew would be reasonably small. I could probably get 3 in my tent with a little room for the run off trays.
You didn’t say how tall your tent was. Height can be an issue if you have a filter in there for your lights. I grow 2 plants at a time using a scrog in my 4x4. I could get a 3rd in that way. How ever, this is not my only tent so I don’t have to crowd things. I can link you to a grow I did last year and shows how crowded the tent was with 4 plants in it. I only was able to flower 2 blue dream in it or 1 Big bud. That took most of the tent alone. If you do a journal and think about it. please tag me in as i would be interested in following it.
As for lights. I am not much use there. i always make sure to have one light over each plant. I use QBs now. I ran viparspectras with good luck. if you were to get a new light. I would try as hard as you could to get a good QB first. it will pay for it self quick.

My photos were in a recirculating hydro kit. I actually did mention my tent is 4x4x6.5
I was planning on using drip trays under the fabric pot then a 300ml syringe to collect the runoff.
I’m very interested in being linked to your previous grow. Thank you. Could you drop a link to the light as well? How would I go about making a grow journal? I’ve seen the videos. It seems the consensus is, 5 is probably too ambitious LoL @Not2SureYet

I am interested in learning all I can. I’ve never built my own light before and unfortunately I won’t be able to spend more than what the X6 is going to cost. I’ll definitely read up on those topics while this light helps me harvest my very first autos.
I’m open to other lights, but I really can’t afford to spend more just yet.
Maybe after this harvest I can put 2 X6 in one tent, and a QB with the same watts in the other. Do another comparative grow for everyone’s viewing pleasure.
Are those similar to the Nextlight models?
