Is it better to plant a variety or stick to one or two similar strains?

I am only allowed to have 6 plants in Missouri, so my first instinct is to plant one of each of my favorite strains. My question is, would I be better of growing one or two similar growing strains to keep my canopy height and nutes requirements in line with one another (i.e GG4 is a voracious eater, while another strain might require fewer nutes) since I’m doing DWC or am I over thinking this?

You are.

Every plant, just like our children, are going to have their own characteristics and height and appetite can vary substantially from plant to plant regardless of strain. Grow what you want.

I would grow what ever combination you want :v:

Cool! I was hoping that would be the answer. Since I already started six separate strains, I guess it wont be long b4 I find that answer on my own. I was just hoping I wasnt piling more complications up on my grow. Thanx for the advice.

If you have a way to raise the shorter plants up to even out the canopy you will be fine. Indica dominant grows shorter than sativa dominant. Just FYI.
I have grown both at the same time in the same tent. I grow in promix in cloth pots so I can raise the Indica up to be close to even with the sativa. That way they get the same light.

I’d think it’d only raise potential nutrient issues if you were doing RDWC.
You’ll just have to keep good records if some go rogue and need special feeding.

If you are growing from seed then yes almost plants ( of the same strain) will show different traits. If they are clones (from the same mother plant) then the majority of the plants will be 100% the same.

I lie to grow a verity of strains. This gives me more options to smoke on during the year.

lol oops! I should have said RDWC. that was one of the reasons I was questioning autos who as I understand it can be finicky, but I think I can find a happy medium. I’ll be going very sparse on the nutes till I get a feel for how the girls react anyhow.
