hey man glad to be here was looking for someone with quite a bit of experience in the inexperienced side of things (if that makes sense) to help me prevent myself from doing something careless. Also for access to personal contact if not just email maybe phone to text when I have those random thoughts.

Read through some of the grow journals and I’m sure you’ll find one or several that will be willing to help you out throughout your grow @lilb98

definitely man that’s kind of where I started my journey but it seems some things are case specific so I figured i’d get my own thread started to get the information tailored for me.

Tailored for you is a great way to put it, I see your going to use Coco. I’m not a Coco guy so I would start there.

I planned to mix some of this Nectar of the Gods #4 I found locally with the Mother Earth Coco/ Perlite Mix mentioned. That change anything for you?

I’m a soil guy I know with Coco you must jump straight in with nutrients. Which takes some time to learn the proper finese.

@CoyoteCody I believe uses Coco.

I use straight coco, no perlite or anything.

I think you’re right about the nutrients, I was hoping to eliminate some of the problems of deficiencies by using half soil and other half 70/30(35/15?) coco/perlite

You re fine for the 1st week with 0 nutes in coco i also hear mother earth coco isnt buffered well so you’ll need to do extra cal mag and if you’re not running compost in your medium you’ll have to use hydroponic nutes like jacks 321 ,dyna grow, fox farm trio. You’ll absolutely need a good 40$+ ph meter and a cheap tds meter I also recommend a humidifier I like this one as a beginner humidifier just set the timer and walk away

Hey man, thanks for the tips! I have the foxfarm trio and am looking for good information on running that through this 1/2 and 1/2 #4 Nectar for the Gods and #2 Nectar for the gods. Going to edit that in my description now.

How many types of nutrients are you using?

Just jacks 321 with silica. I ran GH trio before that. The jacks is 3 parts and the same formula from start to finish. I use silica on my water only day.

would you recommend silica to new grower/my plants medium?

Yea I suspect lack of silica is the reason im having some trouble during flower in my current grow , with soiless mediums they have none to draw so end up with slightly weaker circulatory systems and stem strength , anything with soluable potash will work I personally will start using pro tekt and if you don’t have cal mag you should also pick up a calimagic since you will need more cal mag with more potassium(and coco coir drinks calcium like crazy)

awesome man thanks! I picked up some Blue Planet Nutrients CalMag With iron but i didn’t see anything about potassium. bought a gallon to flush this coco from Mother Earth but went a different route so now I’ll have more than enough.

Im talking about the extra potassium you get from adding the silicate
