In search of mentor for 1st grow

I believe that is prohibited. Check the forum rules. Some one may volunteer to take the part but it is open to the forum. That way, every one shares in the learning experience. With that said, welcome and you will find many willing to help with the requisite knowledge. I don’t grow in coco so I am not much help when it comes to that aspect.

It was mainly to have access to someone’s experience without needing to be on website because I can’t receive notifications for it. Thank you for information.

Oh okay great. I’ll be picking some of that up tomorrow.

It’s a good idea to set up your grow area and run like you have plants in there just to monitor temps humidity and such that way you can get it dialed in before you start your plants

Welcome to the forum.

I would not mix coco and soil with the expectation that it’s going to perform like coco/perlite. I’m not sure @CoyoteCody caught this. When mixed with soil, the coco will raise the water retention capacity, whereas in coco/perlite alone you can water man times per day without issue.

I’d stick with your initial instinct to follow one person’s advice. Trying to follow a little bit from one person and a little bit from another can lead to disaster.

If you’re interested in coco coir, cocoforcannabis dot com is an excellent comprehensive resource/community.

Good point!! I like using straight coco, no perlite or anything, that gives me a little more time between feedings when they get big. I’m still feeding once a day, but im sure if it was full of perlite then I would be feeding twice a day.

Thanks for the advice. I planned to mix #2 and #4 Nectar of the gods with hopes that it would give me some of the benefits and performance from both mediums. Screenshot_20201014-100201|230x500

I thought I read someone’s journal about a mix but maybe I didn’t read it through correctly. What are the biggest drawbacks one might face with this type of idea? Which medium would you recommend for 1st time grow.

Also when I mentioned the idea to the Horiculture store clerk they didn’t seem like it was too farfetched… Do you think he thought I was crazy and just didn’t say anything? Lol

I can’t say what the clerk was thinking, or how knowledgeable they are.

Either one of those would be good, but like I said, I’d pick one person to mentor you. @CoyoteCody is more than capable.
