I’m confused about timeframes

I’m a bit confused.

Some places say that their seed can go from seed/sprout to harvest in 60 days.

Some say it’s 8-10 weeks After it starts flowering, so however long it takes to flower or be flipped + 8-10 weeks.

I know it varies in general, but why the huge difference in some of these companies?

What has your experience been?

Flowering will be 8 weeks + always , veg time is somehow not included. Dont believe what the sellers say

They are using it to sell product they don’t care about honesty

Myself, I have been going with the idea of what the listing says for the guideline.

When the trichromes turn then I’m done, right?

I’ve harvested plants at 10-14 weeks from seed with turning trichromes. Turn around and another one is seemingly forever growing and fattening even though it says the same timeframe.

I always check trichromes, but I’d like to have an idea of how long it has left as for me, it’s not very clear based on my past harvest times.

The only thing I can think of is maybe a shock to the plant in some way has caused it to mature early when they finished early.

For example one went without water for 7 days. Bone dry. It started going amber. When I fixed the issue it started throwing new pistols. So I’m stuck with going amber all over while the new growth is still clear/milky. I pulled it because by the time the new came in, all the old would be amber.

Of course the ones that don’t have any issues through the grow, or issues that are fixed before they are issues, tend to seem to take forever.

Is it possible to make the plant mature early, through some deficiency or something like that?

Yeah, it’s not very clear sometimes on what it should be. It makes sense and I kind of realized this recently.

I think it’s “day one” is when it starts flowering now. If so, I’ve really buggered up my grows, haha.

I use it as a guideline. And if it says 10 weeks seed to harvest i look at it as 10 weeks from flower. So in week 9 i would start paying attention to the trichombs.

Strain and plant dependent.
Auto
4-6 weeks veg if lucky.
2-3week stretch
8-12 flower
Photo
Veg till size
2-3week stretch
8-12 flower.
These are averages and strain dependent… My hindu Kush 8 wk flower. My gg4 10-11.
Time isnt important. Trichs important.
These are good numbers. Can use to ballpark harvest. Plug breeders numbers in right here and if fast flower the 8 week flower. Normal 10 plus for complete ripeness. Amber on leaves starts early. Amber in buds no. Also Everyone loves amber they say. You do realize it is DEGRADED thc and now couchlock. The “high” part is gone. Best high will be 3%or less amber. My grow is for a medical circle. I harvest for effect. 5-10% amber is for pain and sleep med. No amber to very light is for mind. Just what I have found over the years constant grow and many strains.

When the hairs turn in and the buds tighten up is when I’m usually pulling plants. Too early and you lose that density

So this would be 14-21 weeks from seed to harvest ballpark for an auto. For photos it would be 10-15 weeks after flip ballpark.

Definitely pulled some early then.

This is my goal as well.

Yep. 5 months.

Clones are faster.
To get the amber you seek your harvest times are longer. Sativa can sometimes not amber or just take forever. Indica can do it in a few days. We use indica for sedation and pain. Sativa for energetic day/pain/stress/get stoned. Just how we do it. My folks give feedback on where it sits as a med and I adjust. My consumption has dropped as we are fairly tuned in on the 2 types and get good effects. Use less.

Greetings,
The plant is programmed to reproduction so if it sees it is dying it will protect itself by producing more tricones with aging comes the amber tricones mainly on the sugar leaves and not so much the caylaxes at first.
If it is younger in it programmed timed cycle it will throw more white pistals from stress like foxtailing from lighting and dry soil. So yes in a way you changed the plant to do what it knows, protect and make more pistals hoping to get fertilized to made seeds. We see it as changing grow cycles.

Yeah, I have been practicing cloning. I haven’t had one take yet, still trying to figure that part out. My plan is to just find one that Works and clone it endlessly. That’s my excuse for all the seeds I’ve purchased, Just need to find one or two that provide what we are looking for and just clone from them on out and just kind of repeat the same. Maybe try one new strain per grow with an auto or something.

Just trying to get some good grows under my belt. I’ve made like every mistake in the book but I can admit that move on and try again. Everyone here has been a huge help.

Greetings, make sure you practice with photos only. I don’t want to hurt feelings but cloning autoflowers doesn’t work. Try using clonenx. For photos buy cutting the bottom of the clone on a 45 degree and instantly putting it into water so as not to form a air bubble. When you have your cloner sent up and ready scrape the sides of the clone and put into the water cloner with the clonex already mixed to spec. Also trim the fan leaves tips off in a circle. I would suggest not to be a kid in a candy store and stick with getting successful auto grows under your belt and grow into a direction understanding the plant s needs and health and to read its leaves, it does talk to you by its leaves you just have to learn its needs. Happy growing and enjoy the grow. Take care.

What Growmie said :point_up_2: AK-47 and Super Skunk autos from ILGM. Both say 10 to 14 weeks (3-4 veg, 7-10 flower). I had one of each come in at 14 wks and 10 wks respectively. Got by trichs, not calendar. :v:

So you don’t consider stretch phase part of the flower cycle?

No. I do not myself.

Ha! Well now that gives me some more data to factor into my methodology. I was just getting my light chart adapted to my extended veg hours. Now “I’m confused about timefames”   :joy:

Grin. Yea true flower wont start till stretch done. I never time my plants but if I did thats when my flower timer would start.

So if I flipped some autos today, I should expect they should finish around March 1-10th following this general rule?
