The trichomes are just beginning to get milky, no pictures of those but here is the plant. It is 10 weeks and 3 days old. This is my first grow, and autoflower grow. What do you think folks?
No pictures at all uploaded.
About how many weeks old was it, when it started flowering?
Typically people want to harvest when most all trichomes are cloudy at least.
The time frames given on sites are âtime in flowerâ most always. Sometimes seed banks say âfrom seed to harvestâ but I never trust the times when they say this.
But what GSCE says on ILGMâS site for flower time, is âweeks in flowerâ.
I grew some laat summer and I think mine flowered for about 9 weeks but I donât actually remember
Hopefully you see the pictures now. It was 4 weeks old when flowering began, so itâs been flowering for almost 7 weeks. It is an ILGM seed and they say to harvest from 9 to 14 weeks, total growth.
I would say at least 4 more weeks your buds will get alot fatter and will start eating her leaves when buds become mature
Okay, thanks I appreciate your feedback. What do you mean by âeating her leavesâ?
You will see the bigger fan leaves start to fade and die off. Itâs the buds depleting the nutrients from them.
What they fail to mention is those times are commercial grows with extreme levels of light and specialists in the field. As @1HappyPappy said, count on 8+ weeks of solid flowering for best/maximum harvest.
As @Borderryan22 said, literally the plant will take nutrients from older leaves and redistribute it as needed. Mine usually get really rough looking near the end.
As a plant matures and develop big flowers, the plant will eat more nutrients. If you donât adjust for this, then the plant will cannibalize the fan leaves for nutrients.
Thanks all, and @mrpeat for the advice, very much appreciated.
Update: I did observe some amber trchomes this evening, about 10% worth overall Iâd say.
She looks good
Looks like itâs foxtailing on you. I think thatâs a sign of to high of light intensity, but I donât know for sure.
I was going to chime in with something along this line .
Mine never fade much if any, but I usely feed up till harvest to prevent fading.
I would say you could harvest now, most of the calyx apear very swallen and mature. But 1 more week couldnât hurt to ripen them more.
Iâd go 2 more weeks if I could but thats me .
I think you are just barely inside the window my freind.
Iâm going to go for two more weeks max. I thought the same thing about the calyx. Thanks all for your input, much appreciated.
You should give them more like 3-4. Iâd feed a couple more times then begin 2 weeks of plain water. These went 12 weeks but in hindsight I would have waited 1 more week before cutting off nutes
Those are gorgeous colas! Iâm going to go three weeks at least now. Watching them closely of course.
As of this minute, sheâs been flowering for 8 weeks and 3 days, or 59 days, or 84,960 minutes ha ha.
Been about 3 weeks. How do they look. Harvest yet?
I did harvest, thanks for asking. Overall, a decent grow for my first. Iâm going start again in late September. These summer temps are causing any new seedling to literally stop growing. Lesson learned.
