Rookie and I havent gotten this far!

I’m growing Girl Scout Cookies and I know it is close to harvesting since it’s turning some amber but don’t want to mess it up. How close is it ? The pictures are from today. Thanks in advance !

Several weeks. How many weeks has the plant been flowering?

I’d say about 4.

You have 4 to 6 weeks to go yet.

Agree with the others, weeks away. Some amber you are referring to I’m guessing are the pistils. At this point they will keep growing new ones and will be bright white when they grow. The amber you are looking for are the trichomes usually, or late in flower people gauge off the pistils and then almost all will be brown.

Thanks ! I’m just happy it’s gotten this far. I was a little worried with the leaves turning yellow but from what I’ve read she’s just focusing the energy on the buds.

I missed you, @Scottroly. Welcome to the forum as well.

The flowers will continue to fatten up over the next couple of weeks. They will then spend a couple of weeks ripening flower.

Thanks, should I cut the yellowing leaves off or just let them drop off themselves ?

Either is fine. It’s up to you.

Thanks @MidwestGuy - new here but not to this experience. Just been reading a lot lately as I’m switching a little to see how one plant can grow in 4x4’s and produce as much as 4-5! Lol. I’m getting tired! Really appreciate all you guys do and your experiences, super helpful

My 2 cents, if you’re new, newer to growing leave the ones that aren’t too bad and take pictures. When things change, you make changes, you can review for the differences later if things get better or worse. Hopefully better. GL man

In my experience, if ILGM seeds, the autoflower GSC’s take about 8 weeks from start of flower to harvest. Don’t let her go too long, though. Too many amber trichomes will have you clearing your schedule and raiding your fridge.

I’m sorry for the dumb question but I should be looking for the red circle being amber and not the blue, correct ?

Welcome aboard @mattgrows . Nice place with MANY styles and choices to choose from. 95% or better successfull ways. Nobody presses as info is freely given for the newer growers to pick and choose from. Happy to have you. New grower or established.

No question is dumb… Its only dumb not to ask a question when one doesn’t know the answer…
The Red circle is the Trichomes…little mushroom looking things…look at the Trichs on the buds not necessarily the sugar leaves (those other than the buds themselves)
The Blue circle are the pistils or hairs .

Gotcha , thank you for clearing that up !
