I’m a newbie… with solo cup questions

@QueenBee
Thanx for the love.
Im gonna finish dinner her in about 10 min and will hyu

@QueenBee
You ready?

@QueenBee
Read the directions on calibrating your pH meter and ask me any questions you need help with.
We’ll do the inkbird after that :+1:

@QueenBee
Whas up???
You ready to take the next step to growing kilos??? :laughing: :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:
I’m in eastern time zone…
Full
Buzzed
Tired
Lets zero your pH meter at least

@420386
I just calibrated ph tester. Going down to get some dirt. Brb

@QueenBee
Rock n roll :+1:
Ultimately, that’s your most important tool until your experienced

I got about 1in of soil in a cup. Doing test now

Ok it reads 7.63

@QueenBee
Good, good.

Looking at your pic of goodies, you spent your money VERY well :+1:

So what does that tell us?
@420386
It reads 7.63

@QueenBee
Ok, that’s a little higher than you want it.
When you get up tomorrow to check her, stick your finger a cpl inches into the soil and we’ll see if she’s ready for some water.
You will water her w/your distilled, with 250ppm cal-mag, pH’d to 6.6/7…IF IF she can take water yet!
You will kill a plant QUICK with over watering.
Ttyt :+1: :grinning:

I will wait at least 2 days.
@420386
Then test the soil again. And if it’s dry enough I will water it.
Thanks again for hanging in there with me. Get some rest! :potted_plant:

@QueenBee
OBVIOUSLY don’t dig your finger too close to any potential roots, but close enough to see her moisture.
Pick up her pot if she “feels” dry. Get to know the weight of wet/good/dry. Shes in a big pot so you have to water judiciously.

Gotcha :+1:

@QueenBee
Dang it, we smoked some upity sativa so…
Everyone wants to “do it right” but that takes time.
Leave yourself room to fail, how the hell would you learn otherwise?!?! :crazy_face:
I fell bass-akwards into LEARNING how to grow “the plant.” I never measured pH/ppm/light, etc…and had blind stupid luck MANY lbs. I can’t begin to imagine what we REALLY could’ve done doing it right :scream:
But there was no love for “the plant.” ESPECIALLY considering some of the pretty special genetics we came across. In our greed we turned out an inferior product than what was possible.
Ghey.
From trying to gorge her for weight, with less than desirable “bloom boosters” to shit curing.
It was unabashed, shameful commercialism at it’s worst and I’m ashamed to have been apart of it.
Fml…
I ACKSHULLY got back into it because i wanted to help people with cancer/chemo.
I DISTINCTLY REMEMBER my dad dying of cancer telling me he didn’t want to die a pharma/morphine junkie :disappointed:
Hardcore.
The good good, our personal we would gift butter, edibles, flower, anything to this bro that had Hodgkins.
Almost every person here wanted “to grow their own weed man.”
But all the best here left that behind because they fell in love with “the plant.”
She’s beautiful and challenging and rewarding.
You’ll get there, i know it.

I strongly suggest that you explore/read this forum. It’s an absolute fount of digestible info.
I’ll be here for any help you might need.
We may save your plant yet, and if not, theres always more seeds :+1: :grinning:

True words.
1970-80’s we grew ( tried to, anyway), the light dried it and we smoked it, done deal.
What did we know?

Good morning growmies!

Thank you all for visiting my hive!! :honeybee:

My GDP is about the same. She is getting new growth thou!

Ok now , I want to germinate some new seeds. I have GDP feminized and Banana Kush auto. I’ve been keeping them in the refrigerator. What is the best way to germinate them?
I’m also on the east coast and it is cold in my house. My tent is down in the basement, where I can control temperature and humidity. I bought a warming pad to help with germination if needed. I have room for 2-3 plants in my tent (3x3x7).
Any suggestions are welcome!!:honeybee:

There are a lot of ways to germinate seeds. I choose the simplest method, and simply put mine in a moistened peat cube (I use Root Riot brand), and set my heat mat for 80 degrees, and under 18 hours of light. Usually have them pop in 3-4 days.

I used to do the paper towel germination method, but now I just give them an 18 - 24 hour soak in pure water and then plant them directly in the soil or coco.
When I did the paper towel method, I would sometimes end up having to remove a stuck seed hull or membrane. Since I started planting directly in the soil it hasn’t happened, and this just seems like a more natural process to me.

I have a journal for my current grow with the details of how I start my seeds and raise my seedlings. Here’s a link if you want to check it out.

Basement makes a excellent grow space.
I’m old school I still germinate my seeds with a wet paper towel method.
