I normally don’t like to make any changes to my typical routine. I ended up having to use Roots Organics Original soil on this grow because my local grow store was out of Mother Earth Coco Peat that I normally use.
Now I have to say I think I’m glad he was out of my soil, lol. These girls seem to be extremely happy in the Roots Organics, and I feel like if the rest of the grow goes well, I’ll probably stick with the roots for my future soil grows.
And since I’m always talking up ILGM and Mephisto autos, I have to mention that I now consider Atlas Seeds to be another trusted breeder, and for anyone who grows autos, look into if you can get your hands on some Atlas Seeds Froot by the Foot auto seeds before they sell out.
I grew one in my last run, and she was a beast. Awesome smelling and tasting, and a great high. Since I only grew one, I didn’t know if it was a fluke, or if the genetics were really freaking good. That’s why I included 2 more of them in this grow, and once again, they’re leading the pack so far. This is one right here, and I think she’s pretty sporty for 17 days old.

Hey @WilIy, It’s training day! Lights on at 5pm and I can’t wait, lol. They’re due for a feeding, and I’ll probably top most of them, bend a few, and whatever else seems appropriate at the time.

I was intrigued by your psa so I got some MBAP seeds and have 1 that’s 25 days up. It’s fascinating the structure of different plants. She started showing stigmas yesterday. I’m amazed at how level her canopy is, not sure if it was from bending her or if she just doing her own thing.

That’s awesome @WilIy, I can’t wait to see what this strain can do. One of the reasons I was so excited when I saw they had it back in stock is because of the yield they claim it’s capable of. The majority of their strains that I’ve grown have estimated yields on the website of 80 to 150 grams. I’ve gotten considerably more than that from all of them. For ManBearAlienPig their website says 120 to 300 grams, so I’m really hoping for something extraordinary!
Keep me posted on how yours is doing. Do you have a journal for your current grow?

No journal yet, took pics off phone last night toying with at least a weekly picture update. Is your MBAP pushing out stems from all nodes that are even with main?, Wondering if it’s her genes are on too tight lol

One of them is like what you’re describing.
The other one is a bit behind, but just a bit, I’ll be able to get good pics tonight when I pull them out.
I have a feeling we’re going to have a few monsters on our hands, lol. If they’re anything like some of the other larger Mephisto plants, they can easily triple or even quadruple in size after they flip. It’s insane.

I hear that! I’m hoping their estimate of 40" height holds true, don’t need her head buttin’ the lights like the last bunch of rowdy girls did. Been gently easing the AN nutes into her, so far so good. I don’t see how y’all handle so many at a time, it would whoop me

I would expect a huge stretch, so you might have to end up bending her if height becomes an issue.
On another note, if you like that shape plant, the kind that evens it’s own canopy for you, Creme De La Chem from Mephisto is your girl, lol. Every single one I’ve grown has had that shape naturally, with no training at all. Not the biggest plants, I’d say medium size for autos, but high yielding and every branch is almost the exact same height with the main being about 6 inches higher in the middle. Also strong stems and branches, I’ve never had to add support to any of them, and that’s not case with all Mephisto strains. Some need plenty of staking to support the heavy ass buds.

Sounds like what this MBAP is doing. Branches from bottom nodes are about 2" above everything else plus shes about 8" tall and chunky, a fat bottomed girl. I’ll be closely following your grow hoping some of it will sink in.

Lol, exactly, but on a side note I absolutely loved those old Godzilla movies when I was a kid. There was a channel that used to play them all day on Thanksgiving every year!

Great journal @Cap_Ron . Being too chicken to transplant is one of the reasons why I haven’t used the solo cup method, you make the process look simple.
Good to hear about Atlas - I have three freebie Atlas seeds - Grease Gun, Tricross, and GMO.
I also use and like the same Roots soil. Good sanity check that you don’t “underwater”. At times, I feel like I’m overwatering my seedlings, based on what I often read, but my seedlings have never had problems. I avoid the stem area in a 2"-3" circle until they are 2.5 - 3 weeks old.
I’m sorry if you mentioned specifically, but when you water in the solo cups, how much/far do you avoid the seedlings’ stems?
I’m also very grateful for autos, they have enabled me to grow/start growing and have ghetto grows, lol. I don’t grow a lot, one or two plants at a time in smaller pots, I don’t need big harvests. My environment is good enough to grow without a tent, and it’s wonderful to not have to concern myself with light leaks.
And I usually top (then LST) my autos, too, no problems there. I didn’t top my current auto, only LST to experiment, and the main didn’t lose enough apical dominance for my liking.

It’s funny you should say that because I used to love those movies as well especially when they dubbed in with the Japanese type English, it used to crack me up😂 it still cracks me up to this day on occasion I’ll see one and just laugh my ass off

Sorry for the delay on an update, I got into the grow room much later than I wanted to. I’m close to half way through now. I’ll update later tonight or in the morning depending on what time I get done.
