I have wire for lst, want to learn how to do all forms of lst and hst training and to be as knowledgeable as I can before I even start so I don’t mess my bud up:
I am trying to eventually just do a small perpetual run with roughly 2 mothers and a harvest every 2 months…trying to get roughly 4 ounces each harvest and to keep it on a tight budget for equipment for now with room to upgrade in the future…can this work? Any advice and all would be helpful…please as well provide any free information I can read outside of just asking google questions and finding answers that way…or do you know of any good reputable YouTube channels that give great detailed information on growing…
Looks like a great start,… future hlg lighting or diy lighting?
I didn’t see a ph or tds meter listed in your supplies might be something to consider if you haven’t already
Otherwise I think your on track for your goals.
Welcome to the forum any questions just ask we have a fantastic community here that’s always willing to help out
Welcome to ILGM grow forum put @ in front of handle to get somebodies attention like @MattTheNoob. Keep it simple, one strain and 1 or 2 plants. With those lights you will need at least 40 watts sq ft for veg and more for flower. FFOF soil is excellent soil but is pretty hot for young plants. The advertised wattage of your light is not the actual draw at the wall. Their ads are misleading. Find true wattage at the wall and use that to determine what you need. Before buying any more look around here and see what you think you like and then discuss it with some of the great folks here on the forum.
@anon46981397 thanks for the welcome and yes I have a ph meter and 1 of those 3 in 1 soil meters…i seen something on tds and ppm meters…what and how do these work?
@Holmes thank you and yes I am trying to keep it simple and slow…
Lets say in my 3x3........what light by itself would you recommend in the $200 range or less would you recommend to get about 150g from a harvest i understand lighting has to be stronger for flower so I am still in the market for a light?
I have many questions so trying to keep them minimal to not get to lost, do forgive me if I sound to much of a noob........and I really appreciate the help and advice!!!!
1.) Can I use 1 inline fan for exhaust in both my tents…if not can i get by in my veg tent with a small inline exhaust fan
Welcome to the forum. If you are worried about odor I have found that the inexpensive fans like the one you have pictured don’t have enough draw to exchange the air properly. You may want to entertain something like this in the future.
Not for smell control exactly as much as for bringing fresh air into the tent…but I will look into a bigger fan as soon as I make this little grow work…i
Tds ppm meter measurement tool to measure my tap waters ppm and temp before I add anything and after I have ph’d the water with nutrients mixed so that I can tell the crew here what my last feeding was when something goes wrong
@dbrn32 I see your a light God around here…i need advice on a diy light for a 3x3x72 grow tent…oh and Hi nice to meet you and I’ve been reading so much you erite…your inspiring me!!!
Catch…i need it cheap and to produce great dense bud…i could afford about 250ish if it’s all I need for Flower…yes that’s right it’s for my flower tent…please give me your knowledge…
Hello and welcome to the forum! I appreciate the kind words, but the lights aren’t that big of deal.
Around $250 for a 3x3 I would check out doing something with a 4 pack of qb 120’s or 132’s. I’m not sure about current availability of either, but shouldn’t be too long if they’re currently out of stock.
Ok so let's start with the beginning germination.............For seeds I want to put them in rapid rooter plugs.......Opinions?
For clippings I have clone x and just as well use rapid rooters for them as well? Opinion?
Using a humidity dome......how does this sound.......give me other ways that are tried and true please...........need to know temp, humidity, ph of water, lights...........distance?
I have four of these Vivosun 4" fans and they are pretty good. I have noticed a couple are a bit louder than when I started using them. @Bubblehead listed the fan I will be replacing the Vivosun fan with when the time comes. I want one with the temp/rH sensor which can control and additional. Costs more but better quality.
You new fans will serve you well though. Mine have been running non-stop for months without any issue.
The 3 in 1 soil meters are plain awful. They never read correctly so stick with you pH meter and PPM meter to help monitor nutrients.
Speaking of which I am fond of General Hydroponic Flora series. I’m getting really decent results.
