I recently had my first successful outdoor grow and with the winter approaching I want to begin an Indoor grow.
Can anyone point me in a direction that lists all the things I need to purchase for an indoor setup.
Including tents, lights, and ventilation.
Ive done some research and there is so many options for lights I became confused and figured it would be better to ask. LEDs seem cool, then i find out there are threee different kinds of LED lights that fall on the spectrum.
@amosmoses welcome. Tell Jerry I said hello. Several things can determine what you need. Soil or hydro? Several things are dependent on budget. Led lights are cool, but can be expensive initially. Also, if they are not the right kind, you’re pissing your money away. A lot are advertised as one thing when they are not. @dbrn32 is the MASTER of lighting. I, along with others, do hydro. Several people on here grow in soil. Others use different setups. However you decide you want to go, I assure you that I, and others, are ready to help. @garrigan62 is EXTREMELY versed in soil grow. The list goes on. My point, when you decide the way you are going to grow, we can hook you up with the right people. Looking forward to your success.
@amosmoses…make a list of your choices, shop major online sources. seek out specials.
list of basic indoor grow gear:
1----set of PH n PPM Meters…$20 online
2----good lights. HID or LED. Can’t grow healthy plants with weak lights.
3—decide if you want to grow with soil, coco or hydro. each has advantages
4----a decent tent can be found online…I got a 4x4x8 for $70…online
DO NOT BUY A SHORT TENT…common mistake for newbies.
take off the vertical space a light system and the hangers will take.
figure a 5 gallon bucket…what is vertical space is left is the growing
space…keep in mind the distance from the plant to the light.
5----decide on ONE brand of nutes and keep a journal to learn the best grow habits.
6----Start light on nutes…20% of feeding schedules. Adjust as plants indicate.
7----a good small exhaust fan, 12’ of duct and a speed control=$40 online.
a larger grow will require both intake and exhaust fans…maybe a charcoal filter.
8----DUN EVER…EVER TELL ANYONE YOU ARE GROWING…if you don’t live in a
Free State.
You will find growing indoors gives YOU total control of the growing environment. Now all you have to do is find a quality strain matching your expectations.
Best Wishes…
That doesn’t really help too much. 6 large plants could fill the average bedroom. And there are a few members that grow twice that in 3x3 and 4x4 tents.
I’m Garrigan and I would like to welcome you to ILGM.
You will find that this is a great community to be in. We are very strict on how members talk to each other so if anyone gets out of line just tag me or one of the other Mods and we’ll take care of it. But the odds of that happing is slim but does happen.
So with that " Welcome To Our World Of Growing Weed "
To grow 6 nice sized plants, a 4x4 or 5x5 would probably be best. I’m currently growing 4 plants in a 2.5x5x7 tent (12.5ft² of grow space). Last year, I tried 6 in this space; it worked but was waaaaaay too crowded. Honestly, even 4 might be too many for 12.5 ft² space.
