Hyperion F1 - Round 2: 5-gallon with Ventana Plant Science, Stash Blend, and Hope

I’m thinking that too! Maybe closer to 28 days. I think I’ve trained too early on a few recently and unnecessarily stunted them.

I messed up the days a bit when I first started, so I am actually on Day 21 as of today!

The good news is that we are looking great! The bad news is I might have started LST a few days earlier than I should have due to my lack of proper note-keeping.

I started LST this past week, which would mean it occurred between days 15 and 20, but I was as gentle as possible. I progressively made little adjustments here and there while pulling down the main stem to expose as much canopy development as possible.

Day 13:

Around day 14, I adjusted the water levels to 400 ml (1 ml/gallon Tribus and 1 ml/gallon FlaVUH - 136 PPM, and a touch of Great White).

I continued to adjust LST heading into days 18 and 21:

Given my realization surrounding it’s development, I am going to let he grow into day 28 with minimal stress and adjustment. I don’t want to hinder her growth and I think we will get some good canopy stretching heading into week 4.

Additionally, I have moved 500 ml, and will likely move to 800 to 1 liter heading into day 28. However, I will monitor watering closely as I do not want to add another stress factor.

I have also made some environment adjustments: DLI is now at 32 (moved progressively from 14, 20 and now to 32 starting week 3). Humidity is now at 55%.

Moving forward, I will count this post as my day 21 post!

Week 4 went great! Heading into day 28, we are seeing some great growth and LST has definitely led to a beautiful canopy emerging in the 5-gallon pot.

I watered twice this week, one 1 liter and 1 1.5 liter water on day 27. I don’t see any signs of over watering, so I will wait for a good dry out and give it another dose when she is ready!

I did some vegetation nutrients for these past two waters, and she took well too them at 1/8 strength.

I see some pre-flowers creeping in, so I will most likely switch to flower nutrients during this next week at 1/8 strength alternating between nutrient and regular diluted water.

All is looking good so far!

Feeling lucky thus far! haha

Week 5 went great (Day 35)!

She went through a great stretch this week and is definitely in flowering. I see some nice flowers starting to form, and no deficiencies at this stage.

I watered with Ventana Plant Science at 1/8 strength, and upped water to 2 liters. I think I will stick with 2 liters for the rest of the grow as it seems like she will be able to take that with no thread of over watering in the 5-gallon pot.

LST went well an I was able to form a nice canopy across the pot.

Here are some measurements for my last water:

PH: 6.5
TDS: 290
Cond: 406
Sal: .20

I can’t wait for the next few weeks as she starts to nugget out!

Over watering is really just watering to frequent. I have literally pushed 25 gallons of water threw a plant to flush it.. just make sure it dries out befor you water again. Get us3 to the feel of ur pot.. if they feel lite time to water. If going into flower up the p and k nutes to get those fat buds.. ppm at flower stage should be close to 1000

Great advice!

She’s due for a water tomorrow so I’ll look up up the ppm to at least 600 and see how she takes to it!

I’ve had a few issues with over fertilization before so I may be over cautious, but I definitely want her to pop.

Thanks for growing with me!

What nutes are you using??

I use Ventana Plant Science’s complete nutrient line kit.

I follow the recommendations here, but have been working with autos at around 1/8 to 1/4 strength depending on how the respond to nutrients. I followed at 100% recommendations on a few autos previously, but it was definitely too much, even in Happy Frog soil.

I just watered her with 3 L at 1/4-ish strength nutrients in at week 2 of flower on the chart. PPM was at 500.

I measured my runoff for this one, which came in at 300 ml (10% almost exactly!) and had a PPM of 1600, a bit high.

What are your thoughts?

Are you in happy frog soil? Ppm that hi i would say next 2 watering just give plain ph water

Correct, Happy Frog all the way!

That’s what I was was thinking! I’ll do that for sure and see how she responds over some nice regular waters.

Thanks for the advice!

Yeah do run off each time to see how she eats.. then try to keep it at 1k ppm until lile the last 2 weeks of flower and then we flush

Absolutely will do!

She’s looking good today. Did a 5 leaf defoliation and she is still holding water after the big dose.

My guess is two, maybe 3 more days until a straight water.

I see some slight yellow tips so backing off nutes until she eats a bit sounds like a plan.

I also did a DLI measuremeant and it was a bit low for week 5 heading into week 6 (it was 30). I moved the light down a bit since I trained all of this tent’s plants for SOG instead of height.

DLI is now at 40 and I’ll see how they respond after a week and adjust from there!

Interesting week thus far!

She is showing some signs of stress, I might have pushed the nutes too far in that one water late last week.

Day 36:

Day 40:

Day 42:

I watered today (day 42) with 1 gallon of distilled water, got around 500 ml of runoff and it tested at 600 ppm. She is definitely eating. I am thinking I should go one more water with regular water, or maybe add in 200 ppm?

What do you all think?

Outside of the yellowing of the tips, and general yellowing of the the plant, I think things are going well.

It will be interesting to see how this week goes!

I would say bive her the 2000 or 300 ppm. Im on the fence here and almost wanna say shes hungry… so do that next watering and see hiw it goes. Unless someone else can chime in. I have noticed the f1s from rqs get finneky and get super hungry at the end. What was tge ph of the run off?

I’m no Pro but I’ve been wanting to say something. The color on my phone shows very lime green. I would expect it to be darker looking. Right now my autoflowers are up to 1400 PPM feeding.
Also I noticed the plant is darker in the shadows. Perhaps it’s getting too much light? I have no idea like I said I’m no Pro just throwing out possibilities

Thank you, DaveySprocket!

I was thinking about that too! The yellowing did start around the time I adjusted the DLI from 30 to 45, and I did do it a but suddenly. I wonder if I went too crazy on it and I should back it off a bit to see if she adjusts.

I noticed the under canopy was looking fine too.

I’ll drop it down to 35 or 38 and see if these two steps calms the yellowing down a bit.

I have a 4 x 4 light in a 2 x 4 tent (simply due to what I have available). It could very well be too much!

PH was 6.3, nothing to be super concerned about I think. DavySprockey mentioned light, maybe I shocked her too much with the move from 30 to 45 DLI overnight?
