This is my first attempt at a F1 Auto, and I am excited! My plan for this plant is to keep it simple and focus purely on plant health and root structure development. I will do some LST, as per usual, with my autos, but I really want to hone in my use of Ventana Plant Science, FlavUh, and Stash Blend (see links below for descriptions).
Previous autos have seen me over-fertilize a bit here and there. It has been an engaging challenge to find the best use to each level of Ventana Plant Science, while consistently being aware that autos need lower concentrations throughout their life cycle. Each plant is unique, but continued trials and working through variables is quite fun!
I went with a 2-gallon pot. I have some autos in a 1-gallon pot to see if I can max out root growth in those (see my Green Gelato Grow Journal), so it made sense to see if I could do the same for 2-gallon pots. Another point of data!
I want to continue to work on my photography as well, so you may see some evolution in pictures, time lapses, and other possible media productions.

Day 1 - 14
Germinations was successful and Hyperion F1 is off to a great start! I read about a cool root growth promotion trick that I implemented here. As the seedling grows, you can create a trench around the circumference of your choice, with the seed center stage. If you water in that ditch, it will funnel through the soil along that circle with a bit more focus, and in turn, will encourage roots to stretch to access that moisture. We will see if that holds true and helps with root growth, but the health of the plant is great thus far!
It received two doses of water this week: 500 ml of PH balanced water with 1 ml/gallon of Tribus and 1 tsp of Great White.
Here is a quick timelapse of the growth up to day 14!
Throughout the next week, I will continue to monitor plant health and will likely stay light on the nutrients and give the soil its opportunity to shine!
Stay tuned next Wednesday for updates, and let me know your thoughts on my priorities, nutrients, and goals!
