Hello everyone. Started flowering about 2 weeks ago and plant stretched a bit more than anticipated. Wondering what are some good or creative ways to deal with it.
I need to put up a trellis net but one is much taller than the other. I have some of the lst clips that bend the stem 90 degrees but I’d prefer to use another way.
Is there any option besides having them stretch horizontally along the net? I’d like to get about 4-6 inches of clearance.
Low stress training is the creative way to deal with it. And hurry up because you don’t want to stress a flowering plant at all and you’re already on week 2!

Plant stems harden off pretty fast in flower. Definitely do some bending of tops as soon as you can. Here’s my last plant in a SCROG:

Wow she looks incredible. What’s your training process to get that many colas and how long does it take? That’s one area I really need to work on. I usually just top around node 5 and trim the bottom half. I always get nervous keeping them in veg for too long. I don’t have a lot of height, about 5 foot and usually they get too tall if I don’t have a relatively quick veg period.

Usually I only top once: I try to FIM but it usually misses lol. I have a lot of headroom in my growspace but I like the plants up where I can play with them. They sit on a two foot high table and I try to grow plants in a screen no more than thirty or so inches high. No secret technique; just keep threading through the cells in the screen until you hit 90% fill then flip. I defoliate at plus day 21 flower and strip everything in the lower third of the plant. I will follow up with another defol at around day 42 and selective leaf removal as they yellow.

About how long does it take for the plant to grow that many branches? Not sure what I’m doing wrong cuz I can only get about 8-12 colas. I’m just stumped how you can get one plant to get so many without increasing the height.
Topping is suposed to help the lower canopy catch up. Assuming good lighting and genetics you just have to step back and let it do it’s thing. Patience.

I have an AC INFINITY IONFRAME EVO3 and I add a HLG 150 Rspec® FR after I switch to flowering. Maybe you can be the judge if that lighting is good. I’d like to upgrade but I can’t really afford it atm. I’ll try to add some links for those two lights.
I only buy seeds from what I believe to be reputable sources, like from this site, along with a place called Barney’s farm and royal queen seeds although I haven’t had the chance to try those yet.
Guess I need to be a bit more patient and train them better.
How did you make the pvc pipe frame to hold the screen up?
I have been thinking of ways to make a screen of green frame that moves with the pot so I can pick the whole thing up and move it together as a single unit.

One way I like to manage the stretching of a plant is to LST. This will help widen and also shorten the plant at the same time.
The screen frame has four uprights that fit into larger PVC tubing built as a support for the screen with the fabric pot nested on top of it. Tiewraps to attach it to the fabric pot. I’ll try to put up some pics of one later. (skinning a mule deer this a.m.).
