Do you have a watt meter so you know what your using. It’s hard to guesstimate where the light is

Hello @BigGrizz

The manufacturers usually have a “recommended height above canopy”.

Using that then adjusting your dimmer using a quantum meter and measuring the ppfd via the meter then calculating your amount of light per day the plants needs depending on the plants stage and week of the stage… DLI… Daily Light Integral.

Or

Use the chart below for you plants type… Be it auto or regular Photoperiod plants…

Found this info for your light:

"The recommended hang height above plants for the Spider Farmer SF-7000 is as follows:
Seedlings: 44 inches @ 100% power

Vegetative Phase & Whole Life for Autoflowers: 30 inches @ 100% power

Flowering: 22-26 inches @ 100% power"

Other info I’ve found is that minimum 18" is recommended above canopy and adjust dimmer from there.

That is exactly why I use and recommend 18" to 26", the meter… And the chart…together.

Once you’ve got your light set correctly it just VPD (temp, humidity, leaf temp) to consider to dial in your environment.

It is about maximizing your grow by giving them what they need… No more no less.

When I say 18-26"…that’s because you also have to watch your plants… If they react poorly to 18…bring it up an inch or two then adjust with chart and meter.
