How long till harvest now?

1st timer, Midwest outside grow……5 Barney’s Farms cheese and a Wonka Vineyard all right about 6’ tall. Yes I know, I didn’t give them enough space. There is actually 6 plants in that patch. 18+” apart when seedlings went in. What I’m wondering is approximately how long from this stage to harvest?

Keep in mind that each plant may have begun flowering at differing times and can therefore it may be varying times to ripen the flower on each individual plant.

You have quite a few weeks to go. A plant will be ready after 8 to 10 weeks of flowering time, so it is important to keep track of the date on which each started flowering. It looks like they have only been flowering for a couple of weeks.

Ohhh good point, thank you. I didn’t realize it takes that long. In 2 months it’s gonna be close to October and cold evenings. On that front…is it common practice to cut off the buds as they ripen, or just all at once?

The upper buds will ripen first. Staged harvests are common. Do you know how to evaluate trichomes? You should be harvesting based on trichome maturity.

Well I YouTube it and have bought a huge 8 layer drying basket lol….I’m looking for Milky clear trichomes, correct? It said best seen with a magnifying glass as well

Many growers use a cheap USB microscope.

Here’s what to look for:

That’s awesome good info and great pics of what the heck I’m looking for….thanks again! Will lookup the usb microscope
