How long does it take for a plant to start growing again after accidentally starting to flower?

Back in early October last year I had a photoperiod plant start flowering under 16 hours of light per day. There’s a link below for that thread if you’re interested. I increased light to 24 hours a day for a week and then backed it off. It’s on 18 hours a day now.

I had two different strains of plant in the room and the one that didn’t flower took off and grew about 4 foot in 2 months. It died last week due to hot weather.

The plant that started flowering still hasn’t started to regrow and looks the same as it did 2 months ago when it started to flower. The flowers have gone but the branches look the same (dense almost bud like). It has grown about 3-4 inches during that time but isn’t really doing anything. It’s being fertilized and cared for as if it was in veg mode but it’s not growing. I know the plant isn’t a dwarf because it’s a cutting from a mother plant that was significantly bigger than this thing is.

My question is how long after the plant is put on a longer light schedule, does it take to start growing leaves and branches again?
ie: How long does it take to go back into veg mode?

This is the link to the thread about a plant flowering while getting 16 hours of light a day.

It depends on a few factors and time to reveg is uncertain at best. It can take 4 to 6 weeks depending on the plant’s genetics. Larger plants take longer than smaller plants. Plants that are well into flowering can take longer as well.

The fact that your plant went into flower on an 18 hour schedule suggests that any conventional thinking is likely not applicable.

At this point, you have a great deal of time and a lot of resources invested in a plant that may never amount to anything. If you are just interested in what happens, that is great. You should moderate your expectations regarding yield.

The plant only had tiny flowers and it had them for less than a week before I noticed them. So it was early in flowering when it was given extra light.

With reveg times being uncertain at best and conventional thinking going out the door, it looks like this is going to be another science experiment to see how long it takes and what (if anything) it produces later on. I will also take cuttings from it and see if they do anything.

Weird and wonderful plants that keep giving me new experiments to do. I’ve thought up about a dozen experiments to do on them since I joined this place 2 months ago. I like them more for that than for anything else now.
