Tried a small batch with half ounce good bud. Ground it. Decarb and put in jar with enough everclear 191 to cover it. Put in freezer and shook jar 3 times a day for 5 days. Do I need to evaporate some of the alcohol off? If so how much. I will use this to put a few drops under my toung to get medicated when I need to be discreet. As it is now 3 drops don’t do it. My thinking is if I reduce it down it will get stronger per drop just less alcohol.

Yes, it will be more concentrated.
I might suggest this however. This is from a food scientist who is in the cannabis business:
1 oz of alcohol per gram of flower. Break up but do NOT grind! Freeze flower and alcohol separately. After freezing, mix the two and shake vigorously then leave in the freezer for no more than 1 hour. This will extract 99% of the oils but leave most of the chlorophyll behind which is very bitter.
Evaporate away as much of the alcohol as you wish.

This is NOT decarb ed! Anyone using this should be aware. I use this for making shatter which doesn’t require decarb.

You’ll need more like 15-30 drops. Hold it under your tongue for a minimum of 30 seconds.
Evaporate off as much as you can w/o turning it into a blob.

Wait up you are saying that you can smoke what you make out the everclear?
Exactly. You can fully reduce down and vac purge to remove ethanol

You can use a heating pad or just let sit long enough that the alcohol evaporates off. I have a vac chamber.
So if I let the alcohol all evaporate off until it is goo then I can smoke it and not have to vacuum it?

It’s a goo once you get down to 90% reduction and will look like a dab but it still contains trapped alcohol. Once purged, it’s harder (snap n pull). You will see bubbles from trapped ethanol escape. Then it’s safe to dab. You’ll know if you didn’t get it all out by the first hit.

If you go the qwet alcohol route to make dab, I would filter it well. I am in the process of making an alcohol extraction and took a few pics to show the coloring difference. I used nothing but trim but if you filter well enough you can get clean dab just less weight than if I did a qwet with buds.
Pic of wash filtered using cheese cloth (mason jar) and then run thru a Buchner filter. It cleans it up quite a bit. You can use a coffee filter, just very slow but they work. You can expect about 750 mg a gram if you filter well.

The temperature and duration of the wash is also very important. -40f for 10 to 30 minutes for dabs and -5f for 24 hours for edibles.
