My last big grow I took 2 clones an let them go right into flower , i used coco loco an a smidge of ffof an it worked great, I’m not sure why this is an issue now, I’m thinking cause i used more ffof then anything so i think ph in root zone is way to low, like 5.5 or so. I gotta get it up fast without drowning the young ladies. Here’s the clones from last 1
Rough numbers, your medium is composed of:
8% coco
18% peat
25% perlite
49% ffof
I’m with purp on this. Treat it like soil and PH your water for soil. I would stick to the recommended range (6.2-6.5), but given your current low PH soil measurement, I’d stick to the high side at 6.5 until the plants say it’s safe to edge towards the mid-range.
I’d be careful about veering too far from the recommended range lest you start screwing things worse with too alkaline water. You’ve added lime, and the HP already has some lime in it. Give it a chance to do it’s thing and offset the acidic mix. Fingers crossed that happens before the plants croak.
I did a water test on the soil I used ,from the pot of the sick lady, soil ph is 7.0 on the nose. Strange
Could be the lime is doing what it’s supposed to do - raise the PH in the soil.
Checked the non sick plant soil ph, its 6.0 in the nose, wtf!?![]()

Did you just water the sickies last night or everyone? Same question regarding adding the lime?
I checked another 1 that had no issues , yet, an its ppm was 1329 an ph of 5.7 , I’m so confused right now!!
I added lime to all of them, but its coarse slow acting lime, but yes, and I only watered the sick ones an left all others alone.
Yes, I will water them all tonight at 6.5 an use only filtered tap water, fingers crossed, idk what I would do without u guys lol.
Sounds to me that the lime is raising the soil PH, as was intended. If possible, I’d stick to the mid-range PH on the healthy ones (6.3-6.4) and only go 6.5 on the sick ones.
Shoukd I maybe add hydroguard to the Tap water?
I hope so. I’m gonna try it out an see what happens. I would hate to have them die, lot of cash involved in this start of things. ![]()
It’s a wee bit early to start singing “Nearer My God To Thee”. Keep the faith, baby. Think positive thoughts. The bridge will be there.
Hoping so. Just hope I dont drown them lol
Its ‘slow acting’ but I always saw changes within that same week. Sounds like it did its work. The sick girls pH was 6, now its 7. U havent had enough time for a real recovery. And those damaged leaves wont recover but new growth should be fine. Dont removed the damaged ones until ur certain everything is correctd
I didn’t cut them off yet lol. I’m gonna water in good tonight with only 6.5 ph tap water. Shoukd I add a beneficial bacteria to the water now? Or wait?
I’d throw it in the microbes now and repeat soon, but I’m a at-all-costs kind of guy. Hinky ph is likely to kill the lil fellers, so I’d just dose twice - just in case. If you’re more budget minded I’d hold off a few days.
Not worried budget wise lol. I got plenty hydroguard on hand, got organic liquid black too. Use both maybe? An ph 6.5?
