Help ilgm team!

You are a good man, thank you for your help @Davyg

May as well bite the bullet now and get good instruments, along with ‘7.0 Standard Reference Solution’ and PH up and down.

This is something a lot of us have advocated to new growers: pick one person and stick with them. Get explanations as you go. Listen to others but rely on your personal grow buddy. The best way to determine their skill set is to read journals. That way you can establish their bona fides and find someone who matches up with what you want to do.

@Myfriendis410 @Deepsix I have a pH and TDS meter, ph up and down, and FF Trio. I only used a tiny bit of the nutrients one time before I found out FFOF was too hot for that. I got some yellow tipped leaves after that but it seems to be coming out of it

@Handyandy @Myfriendis410

Myfriend410 gave perfect advice. Find someone that grows like you want to do and go from there. Me? I break all the growing rules.

I grow only on a 12/12 start to finish. My plants get so big they literally grow outside my tent. I use only Fox Farms soil and nutrients. :+1::+1::+1:

On brand new Fox Farm soil you don’t need nutrients for the first 6 weeks above ground.

@MrPeat are you experienced with autoflowers???

How old are your plants? Over/Underwatering is a big problem for plants and new growers. Ask me how i know LOL

Yes and I hate them. I prefer full control. I do grow autos during the South Texas Summers. The rest of the time I grow Pbotos. :+1:

I don’t LST, I just top and screen.

I only have one plant right now. It was given to me at a week old as a thank you gesture for a favor. Auto pineapple express. She will be 4 weeks old on Tuesday. I have her in a 5-gallon fabric pot @Deepsix

Please confine yourself to the thread you already started regarding training.

As to getting help; when you develop a relationship with one of the other members here who is willing and able to help, we (moderators) can help. Just tag one of us.

@Hellraiser Including Autos? Asking because interested in possibly going down this road.

Never grown an auto and probably won’t indoors.

@blackthumbbetty likes autos.
As for lst as soon as you have something to hold onto.

right seed dropped 7/5/20 and I could’ve taken another wire tie and bent her down now. Left the little clone that couldn’t, same deal with wire. Side note don’t copy keeping them in solo cups, I’m trying the solo cup challenge or seeds would be in 6in net Pot on a 5gal bucket by now. But doing stupid stuff is how we learn right! :smirk:

OK nice. I’m on my 4th grow i have a Bubble Gum auto i transplanted on 7/24 into a 5 gal pot and a OG Kush sprouted on 7/23.

I have 2 harvests of White Widow, 1 each of Blueberry and Amnesia Haze autos. Basically I spent last year figuring out how cannabis grows. I use fox farm ocean forest as a base for my soil and also use the trio. I have applied LST and topped some of the autos. Others like blueberry which is heavy indica it was not necessary. I am currently growing a photo Northern Lights. Here are a couple of links to this grow.

Just reach out if you have a question and I will help if I can.
I will recommend this though:
Learn the anatomy of the plant and it structure. Forgive me if you know this, but be familiar with terms like node, internode, stem, branch, suckers. It is useful in being able to communicate about the plant.
Another, there are numerous youtube videos on LST. That is the problem. So review some, find someone that does a series using autos if you can that is geared toward beginners.

I aside from one grow I have stuck with autos, me and @Not2SureYet are two people that can give you some good solid advice on autos.
Alot of people here grow photos but still have alot of great advice. I would definitely agree with @Myfriendis410 and stick to a solid one or two people that you find you want to mimic and add start there.

You have a good start on tent, light, venting etc so I’m glad to hear that.
Use those T8’s to set your values. Personally I turn the low’s off and only use the high settings.
I set mine to 26c and then dial in the humidity based on the state of the grow.
You want to print out a VPD chart and hang it in your grow room.
Download this or Google a similar one, follow it.

Looking at the VPD chart you will notice you need to bump your humidity up so keep in mind you may want to get a humidfior.
If you do try and get an evaporation humidifier, if you get a ultrasonic cool mist that’s fine but take your carbon filter out of your system Durring veg state as the misting releases mineral dust that will over time clog your filter. So limit its use by not using it in veg.

Lights can get complicated so for now stick to what your manufacturer suggests for your stage of growth, ussualy they use dance from canopy even though this is a terrible value it’s something to get started with.

You can LST autos but you have to be careful, growing in soil even more so. Plants grow considerably smaller and slower in soil because nutrients are as readily available. I suggest coco perlite in the future.
Whike you are in the soil the fox farms your in is hot soil so keep that in mind. You don’t need to water until 20% run off until your at about week 4 when you want to read the TDS and once you start feeding, because the TDS drops below 1200 let’s say, then you will always water to 20% run off to ensure the salts are flushed. For now don’t water to run off because you will be draining your soil of nutrients faster and that defeats the purpose of growing in soil.

I would suggest you FIM your auto, do not top your autos as topping is a higher stress plant training method compared to FIM’ing yet it only produces two tops and FIM’ing produces four.

You will want to watch your node spacing as an indicator if your lights are close enough or two close. A half inch to an inch is ideal node spacing. Fim them at the 4th node is my advice.

You will be overwhelmed with information here just make sure that you vet any information before you take it or at least have other members agree /vet that info.
Remeber you are growing an auto so that makes a difference and an auto in soil none the less so be care of the advice you get from those without experience growing autos in soil.
I grow in coco now but I grew In soil until early this year.
I was able to pull an average of 4oz off my autos in soil. Coco I can pull 9 or 10 so far…

Thanks, @Nicky. Good solid advice.

Don’t go talking bad about my topping ROFL If you can figure out the fim. It is great. I suck at it. I always end up having to top after messing up.
I feel a little different than others when it comes to first grows. Problems are good in a first grow. I learned more for the trouble I had in my first grow as the rest f the year growing clean. When I had an issue come up. I was a little more prepared to tackle it. My first grow was terrible. And to ice the cake. They all turned out to be males. My next grow, I had a lot of issues. But managed to squeeze almost 24 oz from 4 autos. Like @Nicky mentions. There are only a hand full here that really like autos over photos. It is just my 02, but I always say. If you want to grow autos. Get into coco or promix. Leave the soil for the photos. Coco is super forgiving. And for what ever reason. It seems to let you veg longer. I have only grown in coco. So maybe a little biased there lol. I just got by what I see.

That little test you have going between Promix/coco and GH/Jack’s all with clones from same mother; should be interesting. You know my preference is for Promix though.
