Yeah, light is most often to blame for loose airy buds.
Is that a MarsHydro T-1000 ? That light is about minimum for 1 plant, fine for veg but not really enough to get good buds even from 1 plant.

It’s a 600 but I use two in a 2x4 tent and is the light to close or too far away I’ve grown other plants and they turn out fine

You have to have quality lighting to grow dense buds. If you want to upgrade and have a budget in mind, the good folks here can make some recommendations.

What can I get for around $300 or $350

An HLG 260XL Rspec is great for a 2x4. There might be a similar model for a bit less from Spider Farmer. Just be sure that you get Samsung LM301 diodes.

Are you setting up your lights varying the distance? Like 24" seedling stage, 18" veg and 12" flowering?

I have two(2) 120W input power full spectrum LED lights on 4 autos in a 3x3 tent and that is just bare minimum.

I had no problem and with decent density of buds

I add lighting as the grow progresses. I put an HLG 135 panel above seedlings and then put a 260 above bigger plants. If I grow a bigger plant I will put 3 HLG 135 panels above it. I vary intensity on them as needed to keep ~1,000 PPFD on mature plants.

I would look at adding HLG lights. Even the cheaper one will help with the lights you already have. :+1::+1::+1:

I love my HLG 260xl rspec lights.

Yes I am doing that way only one of my plants came out this way the rest have nice buds but ima try a better light

And thank all you guys for the help

Damn, I got the Mars Hydro TS 1000 in a 2.3’ x 2.3’ x 5.1’ tent with just one plant. I was hoping for nice solid buds. I’m only two weeks into flowering my first auto so I guess time will tell. Thinking about investing in one of these HLG lights I’ve seen mentioned here. Everyone seems to have good things to say about that brand. I’m new to all of this so I don’t know anything about any brands I’ve seen.

Is that an auto or a photo? My guess is auto. I have an hlg 600rspec light and I still sometimes get buds loser than I like.
Genetics also play a role. I’ve had multiple strains of autos in the same tent with the same hlg light and had 1 with concrete nugs right next to one with loose nugs.
Not always true but I firmly believe that a lot of autos tend to not be as solid as photos

@Pinboy this is an ILGM GSC Extreme auto from the Supermix Auto pack. I’ve been lightly pruning her over the last few weeks but I’m gonna just leave her alone from here on

It was an auto my photos are always nice and dense it kinda makes me want to shy away from autos

Yep, me too. I’m within a week if firing up my 1st indoor photo grow, in autopots

Some phenotypes will do this and there’s nothing you can do. A lot of the autos I’ve ran ended up like this but I have had a photo do this as well. Just some phenos are programmed with bad bud structure in their genes.

All that hard work for nothing

Not for nothing. It ain’t pretty but still smokes.
