Hello I am having trouble with my autoflower marijuana plants. I have tried several strains and genetics but all of the plants will produce light airy bud. I am using a 5ft×5ft grow tent with two VIPARSPECTRA P2000 LED Grow Light 4x2ft Coverage. I am using foxfarm ocean blend for soil and foxfarm trio nutrients. The feeding schedule has been:
First 4-5 weeks no nutes just water phd to 6.5 every 3-4 days
First week of preflower: .5ml grow big and blooms and buds then every other feeding been upping nutes by .5 increments til last 2 weeks of flower ( 2 ml by end of feeding cycle) also using cal-mag as needed. I am looking to upgrade my lights to a single spider sf 4000 it hopes to solve my airy bud issue. I was wondering if there is something else that could be causing the airy bud and if buying the light is the best move
You are not gaining much by changing from 2x vipars to a larger spider farmer. You are adding about 50 watts by going from 400 to 450. I would combine the SF with one P2000. This would get you closer to the watts needed.
The Vipar and SF don’t appear to have as much red in their spectrums as some other lights.
Hell I’d keep all the lights going u have in the space. A 5x5 ur gonna want a nice amount of light to power that tent. Ur gonna want 700 to 1000 true watts of power to make nice plants in there. If u run the 2 vips and the SF now it might get u a nice run for now but def airy buds r most likely from the lights not being enough.
Welcome to the community , yeah fluffy buds Relates back to not enough lighting. If possible you might consider a 4x4 space . You can light up a 4x4 space with quality lights for about 700 bucks. Good luck
Thanks for the information everyone. Seems like we will be running the sf4000 with one of the p2000. And might upgrade the p2000 to an sf2000 at a later date
We are looking to purchase this light instead possibly 2. Would this work better or the same as the sf4000?
