I had problems trying to germinate RQS seeds, using paper towel method. Not a single one germinated. However I used the same method on some Barney’s Farm seeds and it popped within 2 days.
Are there seed banks you do recommend and ones to avoid?
A neighbor of mine couldn’t get any of her RQS to germ in a paper towel either. I took all 10 that she couldn’t get and was able to germ all 10 by floating them in a shot glass with 15ml of dechlorinated tap water with 1-2 ml of hydrogen peroxide. Placed them in a warm dark space for 2 days and they all had tails sprouting.
You still have to be careful when planting them so you don’t damage the taproot.
As far as seed banks, ILGM is always good to me, NASC is good too. They’re usually my go to banks.
I did use hydrogen peroxide aswell! Still nothing. I don’t like sticking them in water for more than 24 hours cause I don’t wanna drown em. Just called it a loss tbh
Put em in dirt after 24 and see what happens. I have a few places I do t order from anymore because of three orders I got a total of 4 plants, at a loss. As @Jake3 said, ILGM is a good one, replacement guarantee when yer dropping a Benjamin is nice. Not so with a lot of other companies.
I actually haven’t been able to drown a single one yet. I almost always remove them as soon as the shell cracks or a tail is present. I have however forgotten about them up to a week later. Shells were off and they had the first set of leaves when I remembered they were there. They all grew just fine.
I’ve grown about 12 seeds from them, all sprouted fine except 1, but it wouldve if i was more patient and did mess with it lol
just recently growing first seed from them and no problem at all. sproutling out very healthy too.
drop seed in cup of water and stay in dark dome about 16hr and seed was sank, 1 day in soil and it pop out. im living in hot wet climate country so my seed was germinating easily tho

I float all my seeds for 2 to 3 days. Never had a failure so far. This seed right here was forgotten about for a week floating in a cup. I got busy and forgot all about it. Check out the tail on it. And it grew just fine. Northern lightd Auto
