Ive struck out alot with germinating. Ive gotten seeds from Ilgm and seedsupreme. Not having much luck. Even with the guarantee, im at 50% probably.

I use the water cup method so far always had 100% germination rate, what method do you use?

Are the seeds cracking and a noticeable tap root showing? Have you tried a 36-48 hour soak then place them in a moist paper towel in a zip lock bag for 24-36 hours. I just did a 48 soak and paper towel method on some seeds over 2 years old and not stored right on a consistent basis

I am not good at germinating. I am trying to get some Venus Fly Trap seeds germinated right now with zero luck. I tryed just putting them in the moist paper towel in a dark warm place and tried soaking them in water and peroxide before the paper towel and nothing.
What could i be doing wrong? I need to figure this out before i start my next cannabis grow.
Can you help?

@MartyMarajuanaseed here is what i use to sprout seeds with i never soak my seeds just paper towel and that’s it. I have pretty good luck with them it has one hole in top for air and you can put it about anywhere good luck my friend happy growing

Oh, i understand now what you mean. Sorry for the misunderstanding.
I have a VFT growing really good right now. I pH the water to 5.0 to 5.5 growing in Sphagnum moss with zero fertilizers low ppm at 350. I add TPS Billions and Blackstrap molasses to keep the roots healthy.
I just don’t understand why i cannot get a seed germinated. I tried 6 seeds out of about 25 so far.

You want the temp for germination to be between 20-25 degrees Celsius or 68 -77f.
I use heat mat to keep temp constant.
I soak in shot glass for 24 hours in distilled water and some hydrogen peroxide.
20-25 degrees Celsius or 68 -77f.
Then place in moist tissues ,place in warm dark place and wait until you have a tail then pot into medium.
This method works every time for me.

Thank you. I’ve actually have had 0 success using a heat mat. (Yes it’s for germinating) but, I would get a tail then place in rock wool and into seeds tarter onto mat. I feel like the mat was cooking them.

Hi, I’ve always used paper towels with a 99.9 % success rate. I’ve put them in a water cup with 100% success. Someone spilled some beer on my back floor mat and it sprouted and had the cotyledons, no BS. These were the days oz’s had plenty of shake in the bottom, seeds all over the floor, lol. Circa mid 70’s , So I can’t understand why people are having a hard time sprouting under lab conditions. The only conclusion is you got you some bad seeds, period…

You could try it like this see pictures.
I have adjustable heat mat and set it at 23 Celsius and raise seed starter medium off mat.
I put water in bottom of cut off soda bottles with seed cube in basket inside cut off soda bottle.
Will not cook your seedlings this way…
Have made larger dome to fit over all seedlings,cuttings, gets nice and humid in there.
Have electric fan and vent fitted to humidity cover, rarely use fan though.
Hope that gives you some ideas.
Last cpl years Ive had awful troubles getting mine to germinate. I usually put a few seeds in a paper towel, put them in a sandwich bag, and wet it thoroughly. This year I jus put them in the glass of water and waited. All but one or two took right off within a few days, and the others in about a week.
