Grodan cubes ans drip table

Hey everyone, I have a buddy who has a drip irrigation system with Grodan cubes and he swears it’s the best and easiest system. So I’m going to build one to test. My first question is should I try to get rid of the algae on top? And instead of buying a new drip table, do yall think these HDX lids would work if I angled it and drilled holes? As always any other help/advice would be amazing!

The algae will die off after the canopy fills in :green_heart::sign_of_the_horns:t2:

That table looks like it will work. Floraflex has drip shields for cubes. Or you can make your own covers if your concerned of algae.
