Question about frosted tubing!

Ok so with my water chiller i have in/out lines of frosted tubing, i normally go with blue or black hoses/tubing for air/water pumps so light dont see the res…i know this might seem like a no brainer but ive been wrong before lol…do i need to worry and should i replace the frosted tubing?

I thought it was a best-practice to use opaque piping/tubing to avoid any possible algae growth…

hey thank you for the speedy reply!..thats what i thought but not too long ago i freaked out about blue tubing before i found out blue is ok …now im just wondering if same goes for frosted lol

If you put Hawaiian Punch in the tubing, can you see the red-ish color? If so, use different tubing. Suspect frosted is no good.

@nodurxshn It’s a pretty simple rule… Keep light out and as far away as possible.
White buckets, cups, clear cups, which I’ve seen people use to start seedlings or clones. Guess they like to see the roots. Also, bad idea. Why give light a chance at all to start any algae. I’ve never had an algae issue because I use 2.5 mL/gal of 29% H2O2 in my system after adding all nutes & supplements. Doesn’t change the PH.

@HappyHydroGrower Thanks for the BD wishes! Another year gone by.

right on thanks for the info now you got me wanting to look into h202…it was funny when i first got into hydro i had clear blue water level lines on the side of the bucket and my first thought was get rid of those clear blue lines because light will get in so i wrapped them all in black tape only later did i find out …blue is ok apparently  …and happy birthday!!

@nodurxshn Yep! Translucent Blue is ok.

Gary at PA hydroponics is such a legit guy , you can tell he really cares about people and i love that he hand signs all receipts on anything you buy thats such a genuine gesture that almost no one does anymore. hes on my top 10 list of people id love to sit down with. i wish i could like your post more than once lol, i heard you can also use translucent green as UV light does not pass through the green spectrum something about how thats why light passing through leaves is useless
