Uv sterilizer for brown algae full time protector

I use hydroguard but doesn’t seem to be 100 percent effective.
Is a UV sterilizer to a water pump in and out of reservoir a solution?
Thanks

I honestly have no experience with these, iv seen them work very well with fish tanks and koi ponds at keeping algae blooms down. No idea what it would do for us in the growing world.

I think I’m going to give it a try. Vevor has one for $50. Good reviews.
Your up pretty early like me…lol. Can’t sleep.

I hear you on that. My girls look like they are starting to come around. In 3 weeks the plants will be at 7 weeks already.nWhat should my light ppfds be at you think? I’m at 375 right now.

I would slowly bring it up 500 then maybe 750.

Just keep an eye on the plant for stress but there’s no reason you shouldn’t be able to run 750+

Ok cool, that sounds good to me. The leaves are finally pointing up towards the light. They have been drooping for a long while.

Good that’s what you wanna see. Maybe increase the lighting over two days, keep an eye on res temps, ph and ppm, see what kind of changes happen there and increase again.

Can I increase the nutes? I’m at 300 now but roots have taken a big hit from all the algae bloom sterilization I had to do.
( Micro, bloom, grow, calimag, hydroguard)

500 would be a good starting area to see how it responds.
If the roots are damaged be cautious with the light and make sure the roots can support it.

Yes, I try my best to open the buckets with very little light to see. Never direct light in tank from what I can tell. I covered every opening going into the buckets.
I also made some insulated bucket jackets that have been keeping water temps low with ice bottle inside buckets as well.
I have the temps down to 70 degrees so far trying to get to 67btobhelp deter algae problems.
Keeping pH down to 5.5 as well. I am determined to beat this algae crap. Persistent they are

What’s the temps in the reservoir Growmie, disregard that I see the temps. What’s the roots look like :love_you_gesture:

A PNSB product would naturally control the algae, and is compatible with Safeguard’s bacteria

You must be letting light into your container. Hydroguard gets after the Microbes not algae. Sounds like your trying to but if it’s green then it’s chlorophyll happening.
Is your Hydroguard fresh? It has a used by date after opening.

Temps in buckets are at 70 degrees it’s a DWC. Roots are just now starting to look good. I will take a couple pics and reply when I get home
