Hello grow fam. Hope all is well for all my fellow growers.
So i have a question regarding algae growth in my small humidifier. I generally have to clean my humidifier because of algae every 3-5 days durning these past few months of cold weather. My tent is holding the humidity much better durning this time and the humidifier isnt running as much now vs durning the hotter months. I was wondering if anyone has any tricks or ideas of how to stop or delay the algae growth. From my understanding its primarily due to the still sitting water and the light which is perfect conditions for algae growth.
Would maybe spray painting my humidifier black to help block out some light help or be beneficial at all? As always any input or ideas are greatly appreciated

Algae is often related to light exposure and temperature. Keep water temps down and try to isolate the tank from light.

I use a little hydrogen peroxide each time I fill my humidifier. Hydrogen peroxide is harmless to it and it evaps into the air harmless. It definitely helps. My humidifier doesn’t even run much in flower because the plants create a lot of their own humidity

I did but im not sure if i added enough to make a difference. Tank was good for almost a day extra with no algae growth but i ordered what midwestguy suggested and its worked better so far. Havent had to change/clean the tabk in 6days now. This is my first week using the stuff though
Right on! Good to know. I am pretty lucky for it to work out I guess. Anyone else ever try hydrogen peroxide in resivoir of the humidifier? What was the product you are using?
