Alls good Iv given up on the ignitor anyway, when it finally stops raining theyll be getting a heavy feed with the big bud thrown in this time. Well you see, I have wrapped chicken wire with 100mm x100mm holes around a couple of them, but the problem with that is I cant find any wire tall enough 3 of the GSC’s are so big I couldn’t even reach the top buds reaching out as far as I can
Congrats on the mentor position bro great to have you around
Thank you very much…!
Like you said @BondPacker, despite the fact that you had some issues with them, man you gone a have serious monster buds on the way
I am happy that I can agree with you there @Niala Plenty of issues but thats just what the usual bush grower has to put up with, its never gonna be easy out there lol. But I’m now starting to see just how huge these girls are getting, and how quickly these buds are starting to swell! Looking forward to giving their next feed, I have a feeling its gonna send them into overdrive
I give my chances a 99% of fail, but its worth a shot… What do you guys think of trying to graft these two branches back onto the plant? They snapped a few days ago from heavy rain and inadequate bracing but they didn’t snap fully off. As I was trying to re repair the quick job I did yesterday, they snapped clean off. As I said I dont have my hopes up, but whats your opinions on giving it a shot? Otherwise it looks like I’m due for a little early harvest Being at outdoors grower Ive never cloned before, but from my understanding to be able to successfully turn these into clones id have to revert them back to veg? @latewood @Majiktoker @Paranorman @Countryboyjvd1971 @Donaldj @kabongster @Niala @ktreez420 @garrigan62
After 10 days solid rain there was a few questionable looking little buds I picked off, 99% of them were perfectly fine, this one below was the only one I found with some mold/rot. Not a good site to see but hopefully it doesn’t spread. To be expected after so much rain I guess
I guess you could try grafting then back but to be honest with you i think I would just hang them up to dry at this point and let the rest of her finish up the best she can bro
I’ve only recently tried to clone myself and managed to get them to root but I culled them since I was just messing around and didn’t take the best cuttings to begin with
I’ll let one of the other guys talk you threw that
When you clone they do recommend you put cuttings right into water to prevent air bubbles from forming
FYI
That sucks but with rain rain and more rain and no sun not sure
you can prevent it
get the moldy part far away from the plant, it dries and spreads and will take over your future harvest.
I dunno grafting a flowering branch back on, either…make fresh cuts and try to mate the ends…
yes on clones, a flowering plant can be cloned, made to revert to the veg state and grown from there., usually from much smaller pieces than a main stem.
@Countryboyjvd1971 yeah I’m up in the air about what to do, think I’m just gonna go ahead and try and graft it back on tomorrow and see how it goes, no harm done if it doesn’t work we’ve got a couple days of sun so if it doesn’t take (which i doubt it will) then ill take it back home and hang to dry. Its in water at home right now, I would of grafted it today but I didn’t have any wax with me. Its a shame as its the very top two branches, about 10 main colas lost.
@kabongster dont worry as soon as I found the moldy bud I took it far far away I had bud rot last grow and it was terrible. Im gonna give grafting a go, I’ve done it successfully plenty of times with snapped branches, but never completely snapped off branches so i won’t get my hopes up.
I’m no mad grafting scientist but if you can get the stem fresh cut to fresh cut, the juices may start flowing again…can you check daily for progress, or lack of it?
Either am I, but I may be close to it after this next episode I can check each afternoon which I probably will, we’ve got a couple days of sunshine then rain for another two days, so if it takes, hopefully it’s before the rain. Ive got it in a quarter filled glass of water at home and ill give the grafting a go in the morning
good times…not that the stem broke off but you are willing to learn by trying!
life’s lessons, then you can help the next grafting question
You’ll never learn if you dont try in the first place
and very few people can actually just let the plant grow, lol, me at the top of the list!
we all seem to get some satisfaction out of playing around with our girls in some way
If we didn’t try new things then all the methods we use today would never of been discovered, so playing with our girls can come as a benefit sometimes
and this is a sharing community, what works and how to get there
I wish you luck and will be watching as usual lol:+1:
Thanks brother, will report back soon
it’s to late to do anything now. As a grower you should add honey to your
nutrient supply. Honey is a natural healent works wonder’s.
Will
I tend to agree with Will, @BondPacker, xylem and phloem degrade rapidly.
However, if you make it anyway, @kabongster give you the right track , fresh cut at 45° like a clone and made the graft like they do with apple tree. It’s imperative that you make it in another part of the main stem (other then the original wound), and put honey on the fresh graft site and tie it solid. The new site for the graft as to be in 45° too.
Do not be shy in made the cut 3 to 5 inch above the snap branch, the one you have at home and do it as quickly as possible (like now)

Cheers @Niala and @garrigan62, I gave it a try this morning but I highly doubt any good will come out of it, i’ll give it a couple days then bring it home to dry, plenty of small immature buds on it.
and growing outdoors I try to steer clear from using honey for the one reason that it could attract pests. I use a grafting mastic which is just beez wax basically.
