All nutrients stored in a cool place out of direct light (fluorescent light that is, nowhere near sunlight).
Its got me stumped too bro.
@latewood @Majiktoker have you ever had/seen this problem with a bottle of nutrients before, with the thin layer of mold pictured above growing on the surface of the nutrients mix inside the bottle? Nutrient in question is AN bud ignitor, fairly new bottle always stored and closed properly. Only thing I can thing of is the syringe I use to extract nutrients from the bottles. I could of used it in something like humboldts golden tree then used it on the bud ignitor, slightly mixing the nutrients together but that is so minor I could never imagine it causing mold like this
This one has me stopped dead in my tracks
You sure it’s not just the nute mix itself separating while not in use did you try shaking it up and see if it remixes ? Maybe I’m reaching my friend lol
That pic was taken after id shaken it up a hell of a lot and then plucked the layer of crap out with some tweezers, all nutrients have a very average smell to them but this smelt a bit worse than usual. Don’t worry bro its stopped me dead too, I’ve got no idea. Ill only be using it for another couple weeks anyway then its onto the big bud mix
@Paranorman you got any clue about this, or ever seen it before?
Not looking good for the bud ignitor, opened the bottle to check on it today and there was a layer of the same slime over the top, and it smelled rank. Going straight to the bin. Would love some insight on why this could of happened, anyone feel free to chime in lol… As I’ve said, never seen or heard of this with a bottle of fairly new nutrients, and no idea how it could of happened.
Other than that, for the first time in as long as I can remember there is rain in the forecast for about 10 days straight. Lucky the girls aren’t flowering heavily yet otherwise I could be in for some problems. Still going to check on them a couple times, just not water for the duration of the rain as it’ll just over soak them and invite mildew. Next feed ill be straight onto the big bug to replace the bud ignitor, had planned to use the ignitor for another two weeks but that isn’t possible now. Still running the sensi bloom A+B, mammoth p, golden tree and bud candy with rhino skin occasionally mixed in.
when I get a new bottle of nutes/supplements, if there is any separation of materials inside I place the bottle in a pan of warm water to try and dissolve the mess then shake vigorously.
If that doesn’t help, tho, it would have to be cross contamination from something else that has turned the bottle into a science experiment gone wild with unpredictable results.
Unfortunately this is not a separation of materials, the bottle was fine up until a week ago. Most definitely mold, no idea why or how, my guess is about the same as yours, cross contamination. Nice idea on the pan of warm water, if I ever have that problem ill remember that one
You’re killing it dude, great job! I’ll be asking you tons of questions this spring/summer because I’ll be growing some plants outside as well!
Thanks a lot brother, much appreciated! I feel over the course of this grow I have learnt a hell of a lot, I’ve still only got a few grows under my belt but I’m happy to help out in any way I can. I love seeing outdoor grows so I cant wait to follow yours
Were at the start of a two week heavy rain period which is testing times for the girls in flower, luckily its only early flower days but still praying for no mold/rot
For mold and fungus concerns, have you considered adding milk to a foliar spray? I know you’re already hauling quite a bit out there, kudos to you guerrilla growers, but the claimed benefits may be worth the extra work.
Mine are close to me so it’s nothing for me to go shake the excess water off of them…
The mold concerns are only because of the heavy constant rain bro so the last thing I want to be doing right now is making them any wetter than they already are, but I do hear you on the milk thing I’ve heard its good for mildew and what not. I wish mine were close, they’d be getting a shake and a blowdown with the battery blower daily!
Jezzzz @BondPacker you can’t catch a break dude
Mites heat rain bad nutes what else will you need to deal with before harvest a plague of locusts? Lmfao
Much respect brother you live in a tuff spot on this rock CB
@Countryboyjvd1971 you just had to ask didn’t you Went out this arvo after not going for about a week, lesson learnt… Do not underestimate rain
I had my girls string tied as they’ve been for a while now which has been supporting them fine. We’ve had a week straight of rain with one or two really heavy downpours along the way, I soon learnt my bracing was no where near good enough… Went out this arvo to find The girls had stacked on a ridiculous amount of weight in the week, which contributed to their heavy downfall… Snapped branches, two plants completely bend over with cracks through the main stem (which is tied up now… Surprisingly the pic below of the nearly full snap is of a completely healthy looking bud filled branch, its hardly worried by the snap… Anyway i spent a couple hour doing a lot of tying and bracing and fencing, going to have to do even more soon… On a lighter note, there is some serious, and I mean serious buds forming, which made it a pretty happy trip all in all
Jezzzz sorry I opened my mouth
Try putting honey on those stems next time you go out should help them heal I’ve heard it helps I’ve never had that problem myself those look like some decent sized stems that broke
Buds look huge brother guess that’s a good problem to have
You think they will heal ? The split stem ? The cracked one looks done
Haha all good bro, I think I’ve just had a rough run of luck.
Ive got some grafting wax I’ve been using unfortunately didn’t take it with me today. Im going back out on saturday and Ill take it with me then and give them all a good coating with it. I reckon theyll heal bro Ive had a couple really bad stem snaps this season and they’ve healed no problem. Ive even got hope for the really bad snap pictured above, it still looked perfectly healthy and its probably been snapped like that for a couple days atleast. These ILGM seeds are strong and can take a hell of a beating thats for sure. Im almost happy I had nutrient build up in the soil cause I won’t be able to feed them for about two weeks due to the constant rain, but they’re still swelling up nicely
Ps the 3rd pic from the bottom is the same branch as the very bottom pic, just tied back together as good as I could
Oh ok you did a good job putting the pieces back together and I’m glad they will be ok
Tell you what you worked your butt off for this bud
It’s going to be good
Your not wrong there I’ve put in some serious hard work, was happy to see no sign of mold or rot after all this rain so things are looking good (besides the snapping and cracking lol)
Will get some good photos in daylight over the weekend, things were looking way too sad for a group shot today. When are you starting your outdoor monsters?
I have them in soil now started them about a week ago little more have 5 super silver haze started and 4 more of the gorilla glue will pick 1 or 2 haze and 1 gg to go out side in 5/6 weeks
Will put healthiest ones out will veg them till then under one 1000 watt and two 300 watt leds in one of my tents the rest I’ll just keep indoors
I plan on using 25gal pot for the out door grow should turn out nice
Man they are gonna be some absolute monsters, cant wait to watch the progress
I wish I could help you with the a/n slime but I have no idea ? …but as far as breaking branches I’ve seen people wrap outdoor plants with chicken wire? …everythings still looking great…!
