Is there such a thing as an auto that will not mature. My plant is 128 days old and doesn’t seem to get dark pistols. Never had one this slow.
How many days in flowering?
Started at day 75
You’ve been in flowering for 7 and a half weeks. It takes 8 to 10 weeks of flowering time for flower to ripen. I’d begin looking at trichomes in another 2 weeks.
Harvest to the trichome maturity of your taste:
My last Green Crack Auto took 158 days until the pistols all turned dark. So yes these plants exist. We just need to give them the time they need to finish properly. You’re 128 days into this. Don’t cut yourself short.
You have my word she will mature
Is this a Girl scout Cookie Extreme seeds by I❤️GM ?
When I try to blow up your images they turn big and unclear. It’s hard to really see what’s going on.
The reason I asked you was this GSCE auto by I❤️GM that strand specifically from them is notorious for growing foxtail buds towards the end of flowering.
I’ve personally grown a total of 12 GSCE autos at different times between 3 different grows and 11 out of 12 of them Foxtailed
This was extremely difficult to tell until I noticed the white hair showing up everyday it actually made it look like the plant was never maturing but it was with new foxtails.
Your pistols are very sporadic and also consistent with foxtailing the way mine did. I would look into that.
Don’t recall the word extreme, just GSC.
I just checked their website. The only Girl scout cookie Auto flower they have is this…
Foxtailing comes in many forms. The problems that I had with Girl scout cookie extreme foxtails was how well they blended with the other buds. (Making it very difficult to notice them)
The amount of people that have grown this Girl scout cookie extreme Auto flower and had them foxtail is an incredibly high number.
That’s why when I saw this post and commented the first time in the back of my mind I felt I should point this out.
I could be wrong - I could be right
On the other hand, there’s nothing you can do about foxtailing it’s a genetic issue in my opinion.(Some people will differ in their opinions)
Also, foxtailing other than being slightly ugly is nothing but buds growing out of buds I’ve learned to simply ignore them. They smoke the same, they get trichomes, then it gives you more weed!
I feel it’s my obligation to point this out in detail the way I have due to my personal experience.
You did a tremendous job on that girl congratulations!
That’s Fox tailing my friend. Notice the pistols on the foxtails are fresh and sticking straight out they haven’t even begun to curl up yet. From the images, it’s a clear case.
Second opinion @OGIncognito
Agree, I’ve never seen a tent full all Fox tails to this extent. I’ve had a few that were covered from top to bottom but on separate grows. Too see that many of the same strain is odd and most likely genetic or lighting intensity, have you been feeding or over feeding PK boosters ![]()
Thank you for the second opinion @OGIncognito
@Adam1jam
I’ve been through this as I said before with this particular string. It looks like you got a nice light in your tent.
My opinion, there’s absolutely nothing you can do about the foxtails. I tried it all. They say you can back off your lights intensity a little if you’re running at 100 go to 75 or 50% (personally I think you’re plant will benefit at 75% anyway in the last couple weeks of flowering)
You say you’re at 7 1/2 weeks of flowering. It’s going to be very difficult with foxtailing to actually get to the older buds to read the trichomes. However, if you have one of those microscope zoomers that plugs into your phone you can cut a piece of bud out behind the foxtail and check the trichome production that way.
I can tell you from growing this exact strand many times typically it finishes 10 to 11 weeks in flower. So without even looking at it I would say you at least have a few weeks left.
On the bright side, as I said before other than being ugly “Foxtails” it’s just a bud in an ugly form and will smoke just as good and just as pungent as the bud behind it once it’s dry.
It’s truly not the end of the world.
So what do you go by for harvesting? Trichomes since pistols are going nuts. I’m pulling it at the end of the month, got other seeds to try and tired of looking at it. Is it going to be worth curing it?
Read above
I’ll put it to you this way. I had the same attitude and was in the same boat you are. I let it go to 11 weeks and I chopped it down. (I still have 5 oz of it)
It’s hands down, the second best weed that I’ve ever smoked in my entire life. Two hits and you’ll go from 0 to 100% stoned in less than a minute.
Yes, it will be well worth letting it finish.
So I have to go by trichomes because of all the new pistols right?
Yes you’re going to have to dig into the old bud that is literally behind the new foxtail buds.
Then simply cut off a piece of the bud and view it with your microscope.
I personally got sick of doing that and simply let it Go 11 and a half weeks and chopped it down and it was fire
It can be a mistake and you got a feminize seed not auto. Just an opinion.
