I recently ordered some GDP s and attempted germinating them using Hellraiser’s technique. Unfortunately, four seeds never emerged. Is this a “me” thing, or is the a genetic deficiency? Three seeds are SUPER VIBRANT, so I believe the approach was not the issue. I don’t want to be wonky, but it would be great tp get a second chance, if you know what I’m saying. I’m a HUGE ILGM fan.
It’s really hard to say what could have been the issue, it takes a little bit of time to find what what’s best for you in your situation.
I would contact customer support and get replacements.
I too would contact CS for replacements. But do it before it’s too late. They may have some suggestions to get them to germinate and they may want the seeds back before replacement. So it’s best to make contact as soon as is possible once you believe they are no good.
Idk what process you used, but I am pretty sure ILGM recommends to germinate in water. If that’s not what you did maybe try it next time.
Good luck to ya!
What is Hellraisers technique?
How about Chitty’s technique?
3 parts H20
1 part H202 (peroxide)
Soak in solution for no more than 24 hours. After 8 hours you can plant directly into your medium and within 3 days she will sprout.
I like to sit my plastic shot glasses on a germ mat during the 8 to 24 hour soak. Also the cups i use to start them also sit on the germ mat. You want your soil or medium between 78°F and 82°F to simulate the warm ground that seeds sprout in.
Sometimes seeds are just duds.
I occasionally see someone say they have 100% success sprouting seeds.
Well , its just a matter of time and chance before anyone gets a dud or a few.
ILGM will replace them.
I find GDP to be an aggressive grower. And sometimes an early finisher.
Ive got nearly a 98% germ rate. This last dunking session ive had trouble with 1 strain and i had to dunk 2 before i had one to pop soil. Its a slow starter, so i dunked another just for backup. With ILGM beans i had issues with 1 strain back before i swapped germination methods.
Agree with what is Hellraisers technique or exactly what did you do?
Also would contact customer support.
@Autos-only — Thank you, Growmie!
@ShureGreen — Thanks for the sage advice!
@ChittyChittyBangin — MUCH appreciate, my friend!!! You’re always full of fantastic grow-isdom!
So what did customer support say?
Sadly, I haven’t had an opportunity to contact them.
