First time growin inside

Howdy y’all, Haven’t been on here in awhile. Just wanted to share my indoor experiment so far with my el cheapo grow boxes. I already had the lumber lying around. Just had to buy the 1/8" masonite. Total cost about $26 for both boxes. I just picked up these 2 fans today at HD for $32. There really nice for the price. Also just got a SE3000 and I had the smaller one already.

The girls are doin good. The bigger box has the OG KUSH fem and the smaller box is LSD AUTO. She’s at 5 weeks and just started to flower. The Kush is also at 5 weeks and I’m tryin a 4 main manifold. Never tried that before. I did LST on the LSD auto and I need to start to defoliate. Only problem I have is the dreaded fungus gnats. I have the little shop vac that I chase those little sob’s around with. It definitely helps.

So anyway I’ll post more pic’s as they progress.
Peace out for now.

28 x 28 x 4 & 24 x24 x 3 There plenty big enough for my needs.

My mainlining attempt so far.

LST on LSD auto @ 5 weeks

HD fan. 3 speed and all metal build. They look like a solid fan. So we’ll see how they hold up.

Good to the last drop.

I have the same fan I zip tied it above my lights like 4 years ago and still running. Pretty nice setup.

Thanks and good to know. The way crap costs today I think there a great deal at $15.

Sweet ingenuity on your setup

Mosquito dunks soaked in water and fed to them will kill off the larvae, breaking the life cycle. Yellow sticky pads catch adults.

Thanks partner. Smell and heat isn’t a problem either. They got the guest room all to their self.

I caught a ton already on the sticky pads but wasn’t aware of the dunks. Thanks, I’ll be getting me some.

Excellent set up and happy and healthy plants Grow Bro, that mainline is more like a modified manifold. A true mainline or manifold would only have the 3rd node growing :love_you_gesture:

Nebulas Manifold only the 3rd node

Modified Manifold/Mainline 3rd and 4th nodes left

Thanks @OGIncognito . Yes, you’re right. I should of called it what it was. My intention was to keep it simple but I got carried away as usual. This girl was growing a little crazy from the get go. It had 3 leaves growing out of each node instead of the usual 2. So nodes 2 & 3 both had 3 leaves instead of the usual 2. Then 4 & 5 had the usual 2 leaves per node. So like I said this technique is new to me so I’m just winging it. I’ll give it another shot with my other seedling I have in the solo cup right now. I’ll just go with the 2 mains on that one. Stay tuned.

Topping above the 4th leaving only the 3rd and 4th nodes to grow is my preferred method Brother. You’ll get a nice plant and yield from her….excellent work my friend :love_you_gesture:

Hopefully I’ll get em to look like yours. I’m just too impatient. That’s why i’m growing inside. I’ll have the time for this kind of training. They just start to flower too early outside.

They sell mosquito bits at most hardware stores same stuff as the dunks but in a crumble form. Soak some in water then strain it and water your plants. Also let your soil dry out more between waterings. Fungus gnats like wet / moist soil.

Thanks @plumbdand for that info. I’m going past Ace hardware this morning and I’ll stop in and pick some up. It obviously doesn’t harm the plants at all right ?

I struggled with gnats for a couple of grows last year, so frustrating. Current grow, I experimented with expanded clay pebbles, covered the tops of my 5 gallon pots, and have not had a single gnat, from seedling to harvest, this week.
for training, I use Low Stress Training clips I bought on amazon. They are simple and fantastic.

Thanks for you info. I saw somewhere else that they put a layer of perlite on top and that helped also. Those clips are a great idea too. I will have to take a look at them. I thought they might be a little aggressive if the stem is a little thicker but I know the plant can handle it. I’ll have to see if they have them for a 45 degree bend.
Thanks @harrisdave164

I see they have adjustable ones but $19, damn!

The 90’s worked perfectly fine for me. After they are applied the plant will turn vertical again at the tip naturally. I have used these clip through two grows, 5 plants and have not had a stem break yet. Once the plant conforms to the growth pattern, the clip can be removed and used elsewhere. One order will likely take care of all your needs.

I found some adjustable ones on Temu for really cheap. Next time I make a order from them I will definitely pick some up. Looking forward to trying them out. :+1:
