First time grower in need of assistance

The bulbs come with the fixture, unpack, put in the lights, plug in and turn on. Also, you will need a place to hang or get/make something to hang from. I ordered the jump start stand to go with the light. Over priced but it does the job.

I have used fox farm Happy Frog potting soil for 3 grows now and I love it, has enough good stuff including worm castings that I don’t feed nutes till transition as long as ph is good. Then I use fox farm liquid trio which is Grow Big, Big Bloom and Tiger blood also boomerang which is on their feeding schedule and Sledgehammer flush for when it tells you to flush also have added powdered trio but haven’t used it enough to know what I think but others on here like them.

Thanks @Amazon66! I’m gonna use just water and light for the seedling stage and do what you had just mentioned. I’m looking to buy a digital PH meter tomorrow as well. I still have a lot to learn, so I appreciate the support.

@Tucci It seems like we are in similar stages and experience of our grows. Check out my journal if you want and have a read, might give you some inspiration.

CFLs have been working for me in the same weather you’re having. Best of luck! I’ll follow along. :v:

You’re right just water and light for seedlings. Spray seedlings until you think they have roots because the only way they have to get water is thru their leaves but stop spraying when they get roots because it can cause you to burn leaves. I found out the hard way and fried 3 plants.

Thanks man, appreciate it. Lots of running around at the moment. These weather conditions are throwing a wrench into my grow unfortunately

So guys, I ordered the light that @TheShortAnswer had recommended. Overnighted it last night, so it should here by tomorrow. Also ordered Fox Farm Happy Frog Soil.

I have mine on a timer for 18/6 light/dark cycle. I’ve seen where people go 24/0 but going out doors the end of May I picked 18/6.

I read 18/4, but 18/6 sounds solid. Appreciate the feedback.

@Tucci think you will be happy with the light purchase. Here is pic of my plants under the lights…

I may have copied you with the foam tile underneath as well. Did you start yours in those pots?

Should be in tomorrow! I cant wait

@Tucci Started in plastic cups and I over watered. I moved them to larger containers, added dry soil to pull water a way from the seedlings. Lucky for me it worked, not sure I can recommend that. Best to be careful not to over water is my take a way.

Yeah, I’ve been good about not over watering. I’m wondering if I can just go from the solo cups straight to the final pots (15 gallon fabric pots)

Yes you can you’ll be surprised how quick they grow in it. There’s one grower has 65 gal and he soaked seeds then into dirt in 65 gal.

Awesome, I didn’t want to have to transplant multiple times. Thanks!

Hey man, what distance did you put your light at? Inches from plant to bulbs

About 8 - 12 inches from the top of the plant

Cool, I ended up doing 10.
