First time grower in need of assistance

I let them grow to about 4" to the light and adjust light. Looking good, give it a few days to a week and you will see how the seedlings respond to the light. :+1:

Hey guys, was curious if these white marks on the leaves are just water spots or something else? Appreciate the help.

Kinda looks like minerals leftover when water evaporated. I would just keep an eye on for now.

Will do. I do mist the leaves and top of soil. I see small pools build on the leaves at times, so hopefully that’s just the case. Not certain what else it could be

Hey guys, curious if this fan is okay for the time being. Have this one from Amazon coming.

@Tucci I’m not using a fan but keeping temps between 70 F - 74 F. Haven’t had to worry about dry air, it’s rained most of April in Mass… so far no issues other that over watering at the start…

I’ve read on here and other sites that it builds stem strength? Idk if it’s even factual lol

You are right it does build stem strength

I’ve seen lots written about how water droplets on the leaves can magnify the light and burn the leaves so watch out for that as well, and maybe avoid misting the leaves themselves? If they’re not burning probably no issues but something to watch out for.

Thanks for the info, @Griff. I’ll key an eye on them and just spray the soil.

Maybe could use more soil around it for support there’s quite a ways between soil and where leaves start

I added some soil to each. One of the smaller plants was toppled over when I just checked them. The cause was the way the root grew. It basically went down and looped back up. Poured soil over it and re centered

They also seem to be stretching a bit. This was likely caused by the poor lighting initially?

It would help if you could bury the stem deeper at this point kinda like putting alot of a tomato stem under dirt or if cup deep enough put as much soil around stem. Yes they are having to stretch to light, do you have a fluorescent light that’s what I grow seedlings under then you can lower it 4 to 6 inches from seedlings if they keep stretching put it closer as it’s not near as hot as grow light

I just got the t5 lighting hooked up. Only been a day, they should hopefully rebound within the next week

@Tucci checkout ac infinitys small fans. It was like $26 for two fans and they are silent and work awesome for seedlings. They look like computer fans.

I’ll definitely take a look. Appreciate the input

Hey guys, woke up this morning to one of my girls looking mighty droopy. PH is around 7.5, so I applied some FF PH down. I’m almost certain it would be under watering rather than over watering. I was really careful to not overwater, which may have caused under watering :man_facepalming:t2:. Curious on your guys thoughts. Thanks in advance.

I think they look too young for needing any kind of food and the dirt looks pretty wet. That’s just me you’ll get more answers
