First photoperiod.. what would you do with this mess? Help

My first photo that I’m growing alongside 3 autos in a 3x3 tent.

This picture is of the photoperiod plant.

I topped it and am kind of just LSTing and misc training but all at a low level. It’s turned into kind of a leafy mess almost at ground level.

What would you suggest I do to “clean it up”???

Do a bit of defoliation on it open it up to allow more light into the canopy
