Grow 3 Starting.. First Photo Period Among The

I just started my 3rd grow.

2 emerged and in the tent already. The other 2 graduating soon.

I feel sort of tingly inside.

Love growing this stuff.:potted_plant:

First two grows were 100% autos. Got a couple of regular photos in the mix this time. Will keep the photos in the tent and eventually move the autos to the deck.

It’s shocking…but I might have an actual plan together. Ought to be interesting.

Well . I’ll be the first one learning. Lol

I want to do some major playing around with topping & lst since I have time to correct any errors.

Thanks @BudzMS for watching my journey.

Great start off! They’re looking a little stretched tho. Try lowering your lights a few inches.

Yes too stretchy.

These were in an upstairs window until just now so lights in the tent are not the cause.

Sometimes I think I’m an idiot… the rest of the time I know it.

Without thinking, I went ahead and transplanted the 3 day old seedlings into their final containers.

Not a smart move on my part. Just because I was lucky and it worked one other time, don’t assume it works every time. Why take an unnecessary risk like that??

I hope they live but I am very concerned with the dangling bare root with no dirt that was there that I reburied.

That my friends was a Rookie mistake.:frowning:

Photos are more forgiving than autos with stress. I usually start my germinated seeds in solo cups and won’t transplant to a larger pot until the leaves pass the outter edges of the cup. By then usually the roots are developed enough to hold the grow medium together for transplant. A lot of people actually put them in clear cups then put the clear ones into a colored solo so the roots aren’t exposed to light. Clear cups can easily slide out of the dark ones to check root development. Takes the guesswork out of when to transplant.

The really sad thing is I knew that already… and still did this. The first picture shows the clear solo inside the red one.

I can’t help my impatience

Agree. Making mistakes is part of the learning experience.

Will see how they do now.

I kill plants so, I start with plenty.
Seeds, seedlings germinated, clones in cups or LARGER
MAX out garden and space and watering little cups
Lots of work daily, moving around for watering, cleaning, FAVORING.
Then sex out the plants
And CULL the males ( I hope).
Plan for and have extra candidates for multiple mistakes

@VirginiaGrowBoy Photo above in this thread shows three cloth plant bags.
Two smaller are on drip catching “pans”.
Is the large bag contained for excess water?
If not a possible container for the 10-gal(?) is a water heater drip pan,
Just an idea I have/had

If you like to spend quality time with your plants photos are the way to go. Prune, train, clones.

@DEEPDIVERDAVE

Good question. I didn’t before but I had to buy a large 19" drip saucer yesterday since this new bag is a 10 gallon bag.

So… 2 seedlings that I prematurely transplanted look like they are doing fine.

But 1 did not look good.

After peeling off the hull and replanting a seed with damaged tail. nothing for 3 days… But just now, i see some green.

Do you think it has a chance?

Sorry for the bad photo

It may have a chance. When you remove the helmet heads if you didn’t already try using a spray bottle of warm water. Must the seed husk and let it sit for a few minutes. Then gently peel it away.

As a Darwinian caretaker, it is amazing how plants survive.

Amazingly, I did not DROP the square planter.
I did, scrape out 1/8 of accessible soil (no roots showing) and trade for some better mix seedling soil.
Green wire support HUNG left guy multiple times.
Few battery incidents, but I got her rightsided!

I like your splint. Amazing…nature and the will to survive

Scrunched up and contorted…

but (mostly) still alive, my good luck seems to be holding out.

This puppy was damn near resurrected from the dead.

Had to use an exacto knife to cut and separate the husk from the cotyledons and leaves. Like performing brain surgery… Uh, no thanks… it could have been avoided.
