18" diameter ball of leaves. Help!

I have my first photoperiod plant going @ week 7 above ground.

I’ve not flipped her to 12/12 yet but I did top her in a couple of places a few weeks ago.

As suggested I’m letting her grow out but she is not growing like I expected and had turned into a giant round ball .

Will this be okay even if she looks like this still when I flip her or do i need to do anything different.

Help and Thanks!

PS just watered her so she looks a little droopy.

What light , soil.?

I bet she stretches out at flip. Can defoliate all the worthless junk after she opens up i bet.

@VirginiaGrowBoy how long since the toppings? She’s probably a little shocked but should recover soon. You keeping track of your ph and ppm’s? There a few reasons stunts occur. Trick is finding out what she’s telling you lol.

Just have a second to respond.

FFOF, 10 gal. grow bag, watering at 6.5 pH, 2+ weeks since topping, no nutes yet since huge amount of hot dirt.

Otherwise looks healthy…just extremely bushy. Have ppm meter but haven’t measured run off yet.

Light = 200W input full spectrum LED

@VirginiaGrowBoy well to be honest other than the drooping which is expected after a watering your plant looks great. Bushy can be defoliated if it’s an issue.

But it is so flat and bushy it’ll be hard to get in below to pull leaves.

Should I pull leaves even if just from the top?

Can u post a side shot?

It’s late can do tomorrow… but it looks the same. Big and round from the top and the sides LOL

Let her do her thing, gonna be a beast!

I’m skeptical and highly doubtful at this point that she will be anything near a beast. But I’d love being dead wrong on that.

If no colas pull up and out of the canopy then it’ll be the Great Fizzle.

Have faith brother. She will stretch out. If you get a double in size yay. If 1/3 still good. Will open right up trieng to find light for the flowers. Then you can see inside and clean her up. I believe in you man.

That’s the beauty of photos, your in control. Maybe it’s just my buzzed up old eyes but I see no reason that plant can’t meet/exceed your expectations

Did you top the new growth coming from the original topped stem? If so, did you let that new growth grow out 3 nodes then top?

How many flower sites does she have right now?

If she was mine, I would defoliate enough to get a good sense of her branching structure. Then, based on how long you want to let it veg and how big you want it, selectively remove some of the secondary branches. Open it up a bit

This is a NL fem photo. I got carried away topping all of the NL in this grow. This had the most - at least what I could see and count.

Ok, I’m going in!!

Actually as you all suggested, I’m going to root around under the canopy and see if there is a structure of some type.

I’ll let you know what I find and do.

Wow, what a tangled mess it was!

Just a dense jungle underneath with only tiny shoots coming up.

I did the best I could I suppose but I hope I didn’t overdo it.

Here’s the process in action:

What a dense mess!

That is wildly awesome. Looks nice and healthy and wow lots of action could be going on soon. Are you going to let her veg for a while. She could be huge. I gonna hang for a while with this grow.

Wow! You tamed the jungle, nice job!

Photoperiods are new to me so I don’t rightly know what I’m going to do now. :flushed::flushed::flushed:

I guess I want to see the leaves start to come back. The other variable is I am marginal in light in the tent and I also have that auto 1/3 of the way thru flowering and I don’t want to cut the light schedule to 12/12 because she may not get enough light in those 12 hours vs 18 hours now. Also, I have a 3rd light on order to get me to 300W total but it won’t be in till late next week.

Do I keep treading water and keep the light at 18 hours and just keep flattening out the photo??

Help! Give me some direction. Too many variables for my brain to handle…it might explode!

The auto won’t care what schedule she is on. She does her own thing. I would keep the photo in veg on 18 schedule for a while til she grows a tad vertical.
