First grow in coco and need advice

Hi everyone, so here I am again, feeling over my head…

First coco grow as you may know. I have 2 Northern Lights and 2 Gorilla Glue both autos.

This is day seven. Past grows in soil seemed bigger (from memory ) anyway, here I am.

I was a little unsure of ph in the coco burgers, they came from a commercial grow, so I have some faith. I expanded the burgers with full strength jack’s 3 2 1 ph’d to 5.8, but haven’t added anything else.

My plan is jack’s all the way til harvest but also silica and microbes. Should I add anything right now… (one is mutated or deficient) I plan to to feed again to runoff tomorrow so as to flush a bit and renew ph. Should I add some silica and microbes now?

Here are the pics. Any advice I would really appreciate as always

Something weird is going on with 3rd from left

Thanks everyone :relaxed:

Should also say right now in small seedling box under t5. Rh averages 60%. I can’t get it higher right now

Fish Sh!t is a little expensive but can be added the whole way through. Great stuff, roots boom. Add it to your mix, after pH’ing. Haven’t tried Tribus, but it is suppose to be great as well. @Hellraiser did a comparitive grow with tribus and Fish Sh!t, I believe. Xtreme has a free sample kit for $8 shipping, that has mykos and azos you can use too.

Silica can be added to the mix a couple of weeks before flower, up until flower starts. Add it first, and let it sit for a few minutes. Then add your Jack’s and pH. You HAVE to let it sit. It will also drop the pH like whoa, so pay attention to it.

Hope this helps. Good luck and happy growing!

Looks great. Full strength jacke all the way. You mentioned water to runoff tomorrow, with coco water to runoff everyday. My plants like to be watered bout an hour after lights on. As for plants starting out in soil we’re bigger. Don’t worry your coco grow will outperform a soil grow. I grew some clones in soil vs coco all other parameters exactly the same and my soil gave 12 oz while the coco gave 1.5 lbs each

What’s your temp? Shoot for 79f any cooler you’ll get slow growth.

Don’t over water and get fishshit it’s good stuff. Or tribus whatever is available and cheaper.

Every plant besides the second is showing that the nutes are too strong imo. Dilute by half until 3 weeks and make sure there’s cal mag in the feed

Edit: even the second one has pointed down leaf tips

I have Recharge. Is that stuff different? I’ll have to look into fish shit. Is that on top of jack’s and microbes?

It’s around 69f with furnace and light. You think a space heater would be worth it? I have Recharge will that work ya think?

Well they just sprouted so I’ve just been adding enough to keep it wet. I figured the roots will be close now so I better water to runoff. That’s definitely the plan once I’m in 3 gallon. I’ll keep watering to ro now that they’re growing thanks

I’m always told can’t go wrong with full strength jack’s :rofl: I worry about that too. Maybe I’ll diluted some until I get into the bags. My tap ppm is 240… maybe that and full strength jack’s is too much… idk

My thoughts exactly. Even if they could take full strength they don’t need it✌️

This KootMed’s feed chart for Jack’s.

I also believ warmer temp would speed up plants a little. Feeding daily too, and I would use the recharge maybe once per week.

Fish Sh!t is the microbe. 3-6ml per gallon after Jack’s and pH’ing. Last thing in. I’ve not used recharge so I really can’t tell you anything on it. Lots of growers here have, though.

I would try to get the heat up some, that’s likely why your growth rate isn’t exceeding what you saw in soil. Feed full strength every day. I use tributs or fishsh!t once a week after I transplant up out of the cups

Looks like I need to invest in a space heater with a thermostat… thank you

I’m gonna reverse my exhaust first. Right now venting at the top

Here are 3 of 4 inside tent. Day 17 Not horrible for just over 2 weeks I guess. I haven’t been able to get the temp up yet. It’s -10° outside.

The coco has stayed moist so far (been watering daily) so I pretty much get the same runoff that I add. I’m guessing that will change when they start growing better and using more nutes.

I’m only growing 4 this time. 5 plants were pretty crowded in my 5x5 last grow

One Gorilla was mutated so she got pulled. I have another in the seedling box

The sprinklers aren’t being used yet. I think the spots could be from splashed nutes

Today I gave them first recharge. Still feeding jack’s 3 2 1 full strength. Will probably add silica for the first time this weekend

I forgot to label these 3 :no_good_man::rofl::rofl: Any thoughts? There are 2 northern lights and 1 Gorilla Glue. first time I’ve done that

Have a great night friends

They look quite nice to me and I think you are right about waterdrops on the leaves.
