Everything was going swimmingly, then

Two weeks old and everything was going swimmingly, then yesterday I opened the tent for my morning check and 82 degrees. It is usually 68 to 72 degrees. Soil was dry so I watered her very well. Raised the light, it is a 450w LED and was 24 inches above the girls. I have it at 30 inches now. I have a fan blowing and didn’t feel I was over watering, was giving spritz just enough to wet the soil, once to twice a day.
The girls in the background are only a week old and not drooping at all. Any suggestions?

Oops, this should be in Beginners, not Grow Journals.

I fixed it for you

I would just let her dry out before you water again. She still looks pretty good!

And welcome to Ilgm

Thanks! I’ll do that.

When they are still in the cups like that they don’t need a whole lot of water

That is good to know. I almost started them in trays like I do my garden plants, but felt they would outgrow those too fast and also I reuse them every year and did not want to risk any contamination.

Well it looks like it has been over watered, at that stage of there growth cycle they do not need a lot of water to keep them going. You might want to poke a few holes in the bottom of the cup, (I am guessing its in a plastic cup.) so the excess water can drain out just make sure you have the cup in another container to catch the water so it does not go al over the place. Hope I was of some help.

Thanks! Yes, they do have holes in the bottom. I will definitely back off on the watering. I fear I am a “helicopter parent.” lol

Lol we all are in the beginning. These are very resilient plants! If you need anything else just let us know

thanks @Missiles and @darkillusion3526

Also try to keep any water off the leaves. Beads of water on leaves can have the magnifying effect aka burn the leaves.

Looks like others have covered you well.

Welcome to the forum, it is a great place to be.

Welcome to the forum.

If you have issues, whatever you do, don’t do everything at once. Try one thing, see if it works, if it doesn’t then try something else.

Babies don’t need much water. Maybe a tbsp a day, at most.

How far away is your lighting? Leaves curling under like that can be a symptom of too much light.

Here is an example of a pic I took of a young plant I had which was trying to “hide” from the intensity of the light. I backed off my light some and the condition corrected within 36 hours or so.

Thanks @MidwestGuy the light was 24 inches. I moved it up to 30 inches. She seems on the road to recovery! Now my next question, should I trim off the bottom leaves that are showing brown?

If it was me I would, you have good growth growing up top so I would not worry about the loss of that one leaf.

@TheOldGardner You could remove but to be honest let the plant rob what it can from the leaf for what it can take. It’s only like that because the leave was touching the soil and nothing more.

Thanks @MrPeat. Couple other questions for you experts. I have 7 seedlings going. 4 White Widows and 3 Chocolopes. My tent is a 4x4 divided into 3x3 (flowering side?) and a 3x1(seedling/clone side?) with a shelf in the middle.
Here is my plan.
Once they are a comfortable size, keep 1 WW and 1 CL on the 3x1 side to be mothers. take 2 WW and 2 CL and transplant into a 4 bucket RDWC in the 3x3 side.
Question 1. Will the mothers be cramped in the 3x1 side of the tent?
Question 2 and 3. 4 buckets in 3x3 side. is that too small? Will they compete too much for light and impact yields?
If so I could use this tent for cloning, mothers, and veg plants. Purchase a 4x4 to use for the 4 bucket RDWC. But I don’t want to throw money away on another tent, lights, fan, etc.
Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.
