So I have 5 gallon dwc bucket’s it’s a pain to get a submersible pump for draining buckets. I seen this pump but I’m looking for a self priming pump preferably with a on off switch. I have a lot of individual buckets to do so the cheap battery transfer pumps is not an option as I’ve used them currently and tired of going through batteries and takes forever to do . I know there has to be an option for a pump out there.
You are correct, that one reads “fill the head with water”.
You want to search for “self priming transfer pump”.
Heres one at harbor freight for less the $20 but requires a drill.
And heres one on Amazon kind like the one in your picture, but it says “self priming”.
Yeah seen the drill one but had mix reviews online about it. There’s got to be an electric inline non submersible self priming transfer pump on the market for hydroponics by now… the submersible ones are fine for filling up my buckets but draining the buckets it’s hard to get a pump in there when plant is scrogged
I use that pump not for growing but for work it is self priming and works well little noisy but good pump has replaceable impeller you can’t run it dry for very long maybe a minute and a half max
