Drying in a low humidity environment

Maintaining adequate humidity levels during winter presents a challenge, with even humidifier use resulting in relative humidity (RH) rarely exceeding 42%. Given a planned harvest this weekend, I require confirmation that this process can be completed without compromising plant health through desiccation. Will diligent monitoring of the drying process suffice, considering the consistent ambient conditions of 68°F and 40% RH?

Can you get a tent even one of those cheap green transparent ones off amazon and run a humidifier to it with some added airflow? You can also spread it in some containers or totes with the lid cracked and some airflow to help concentrate the humidity and slow it down. Have to keep a close eye on it.

I have a tent and a small Cloudforge humidifier. I just wasn’t sure if running it inside the tent while buds are drying would be a good idea. So, a humidifier set to 60%, not facing directly at the buds, with plenty of airflow, should be okay? No risk of mold?

I mean there is always a risk of mold in general but not sure there is more risk keeping it in the tent. I keep my fogger in the tent. Tomorrow will be day 8 and working just fine. Aiming for a 16 day dry/cure in the tent. Since we are trying to basically recreate the conditions of a jar in our tent you can cure while in there too.

My lung room rH is 30-40% depending on when heat kicks on the furnace. I tried raising the lung room rH but that wasn’t very successful but leave one of those tower style ones out there going too.

You want airflow not a hurricane or directly on the buds. I have a fan at the bottom of my tent oscillating at low speed and one above my light doing the same. Facing parallel with the floor, not angled.

68F and 60% rH is prefect. Granted getting low temps is fine too. That’s pretty much how the Cool Cure machine keeps your bud so figure it must be just as good dialed in, in our tents.

Oh I forgot to mention I put peroxide in my fogger water. I only have 12% at the moment so pour in ~1/2 to 1oz of it into the gal of water i put in the fogger. Keeps everything clean in the fog and helps in the tent.

or a large appliance box? (Downside-mold)
I hang in lung room, vice lawn-mower shed which smells gasoline.

I would rather slow the drying process (paper bagging), than add water to drying process.

However, washing harvest and hanging with fans will significantly slow dry process.

Okay, so I have them hanging in the tent. Distilled water and peroxide are inside the humidifier. Instead of placing it inside, I have it outside by the air intake port. It seems to work well. The RH shot up to 60% within two minutes. I have a couple of fans blowing indirectly.

Thanks again!

Awesome! Just keep monitoring the water level and you’ll be all good.

I set a low humidity alarm on my aci controller i wonder if you can do that but with the cloudforge? Anyways, it makes a loud annoying beep when low so then i know i forgot to refill the humidifier.
