We are at Day 43 and it would seem that I fell into overwatering once she started eating more. A few days ago it got droopy and I was worried I overwatered so I let her dry out and then fed her again yesterday slowly until runoff and she hasn’t perked up at all. I can’t find any pests…the canopy is at 45 DLI around 18inches from the lights. It’s been in an organic soil mixture that drains well. temps while lights on are usually around 75-76° with RH at 50-60% and I’ve been feeding with the GH Flora pack (gro, micro, bloom) at half strength. Not quite sure whats going on anymore….
Somebody will be alone here in a minute to give you a better answer than mine but from my observation it does look over watered and if that’s not causing the leaves to taco then she’s getting too much light also
What do you ph your water/feed at?
6.3ph-6.5ph veg
6.5ph-6.8ph flower is the numbers you want
Have you done a ppm runoff test?
I have to agree, looks to be overwatered. I have one right now that looked similar a couple weeks ago. It’s still in veg and stopped taking water like it was, took 5 days to dry up instead of 3 like it was. Weird.
i was pretty sure the soil was dry all the way thru the 5gal pot before i watered yesterday i even used one of those classic soil moisture readers. i thought it would perk back up at some point during the day, i didn’t even go through the entire gallon of water i had as i stopped right when i saw runoff. but the fact that its stayed droopy for 18hours had me thinking i better share in case its not overwatering.
should i wait even longer after i think the soil drys out before i try feeding again?
when the plant/pot feels light when you pick it up that’s when you should water. After you water pick it up so that way you got a way to judge drench the drought
right. ok so there’s nothing different to try. just keep hoping it starts to perk back up
I think that’s what I would do. It looks healthy other than maybe what @DoneDeal said about a little too much light at this point. It looks to be early in flower, is it a photoperiod or auto? If it’s a photo, according to some lighting schedules, it should be brought up to a 40 DLI in weekly stages and might need CO2 if run over 40. If it’s an auto, 45 DLI is good.
How many gallons does it take to get runoff?
about 3/4 of a gallon
Toss that. Those are worthless and never work.
Edit: I kept getting them for Christmas present so one year I decided to put five of them to the test. None were accurate or even matched another.
@Budbrother future gift heard that!
Does it stop drooping right after watering, or at any points?
Looks underwatered to me. How large are the pots? If that soil is super dry you’re going to get a faux runoff. Meaning the water is going to roll off the soil and through the sides of the fabric pots before it’s able to be absorbed by the soil.
@Underthestairs no it did not stop drooping after watering in fact it almost seemed to get worse which is why i decided to bring the issue here
here’s how its looking now after 9 hours of light. might be slowly getting a little better
@BobbyDigital I did not know that. this is the first time i’ve ever used a fabric pot for anything. however I did notice water come out the sides pretty quick but kept watering until I saw runoff elsewhere as well
5 gallon pot
Seems like your soil is bricked. Squeeze the sides of the pots to break up the soil and water again. You’ll need to go at a slow pace with watering because the soil becomes hydrophobic when it’s super dry. It would probably benefit you to bottom feed (water) to get the plants to respond since the water seeking roots are towards the bottom of the soil. If you have a pan large enough to set that pot in, pour some ph’d or RO water in that pan and set your pot in it. It will wick up from the bottom.
These are lines I was thinking along
What kind of moisture meter did you use ? The type with a long fairly thick spike are notorious for puncturing main root systems , ask me how I know lol . So as long as you didn’t use it right in the centre . It’s a good idea to go by weight , if the pot feels light then it probably needs a drink . If it’s heavy and dull sounding then it’s probably soaking . Plant looks healthy enough too . Really does look over watered though . Peace .
alright i’ll try that
I used one for a while, starting out. I ripped off the ph probe as that’s useless. But the moisture probe was actually a good tool until I was able to tell by the feel of the pot.
Yep that’s them , I wouldn’t use it if I were you .
