Does anyone give a dark period before flipping the lights

I believe I’ve read somewhere providing a 24 hr of dark before the big flip is anyone doing this ? Ive never but curious if there’s any benefit to this

I don’t think I have ever heard of that… Most will tell you to just flip them fully right off the bat. That’s what I’ve always done.

Doesn’t mean it’s not a thing though!

I think the idea is to stress them a little to make them flower faster but idk something read when i first started out a few years back I also dont know if its a thing but i figured what better place to ask

It is said that 24 hrs dark before the flip helps them jump to flower faster like 5 to ú days instead of 10 to 14 days havnt tried it myself but I hear it does have some benefiting qualities to helping get flowering faster

I tried that this grow. I threw her into dark for 48 hours and then went to 12/12. I’m not noticing any difference at 3 weeks…

@oldmarine, did the dark period limit stretch by chance? I’m not really concerned about speeding the process up, but if it slowed or reduced stretch i might give it a whirl

I don’t think it would stop stretching … week 3 to 4 after flip that’s usually what I experience for stretching … idk if that helps
