Proper 12 to 12 flip?

I have read many different things from all over, some people say to have a 24 to 36 hours of pure dark before starting the 12 - 12 cycle...Is there any truth to this? or do I just set my timer for 12 on 12 off and let it start at it's normal off time?

I have read that too. I have not seen it help except maybe a small jump on showing her pistils. Where it will make a difference is at the end of flower It will plump the buds nicely. Welcome to the forum( the best anywhere) and Happy Grows…

a dark period before flower will not help anything,
when ready just flip to 12/12.!!

Thanks for taking the time to respond to my question, I did the flip yesterday with no dark period seemed to be the prevailing opinion. So just waited till my 18/6 dark period came and flipped it from 6 dark to 12. Excited to see my first buds / flowers in my very first grow.

Support that what you say last in your sentence. Just 12/12 and gooooo. If you think , that just stress plant when all light is gone.

How old is she?

37 Days old, problem is though, room is getting short even with (LST) in my 2x2x4 tent. If I wait any longer the plant won’t have room to double in flower stage, right now I figure it can double without getting into the lights if I get it to flower soon. but yeah 37 days old maybe 38.

Its definitely the best direction to go… that’s the beauty of indoor growing, you get to decide the cycle lengths. I worry about height as well, but more so space between plants…
