I have a problem drying in the south.Has anyone adapted a wine cooler and turned down the settings to dry 60/50rh? Trying to have lung room done in time and its not going to happen.
Any way you can achieve ~60% RH and temps around the high 60s is golden. It takes a week to 10 days to dry at those levels. Most growers cure their harvests with Grove Bags or Ball jars.
I’ve been trying the ball quart jars but it is turning brown. Doesnt have the same smell either.I’m staying at 74/54 rh. Its making me smoke it faster though.
I have a simular issue with temps but cant do anything about it so i cut whole plant down and hang complete to slowdown drying best i can. If i get more than 5,6 days i feel fortunate.
what was the rh when u put in jars?
Mid 50s.
I actually take the plant outside and pull it out of the pot and rinse all the soil off and dry it with the roots and it only takes a few days to dry.I do leave them in for the trics to turn amber.maybe I leave them too long?Im finishing inside but most of their life is outside.Super skunk photo from ilgm.
when you put in jars to cure, rh should be in the range of 61 to 64.
I gave up trying to battle the RH% down South Texas coastline. I just harvested Purp’s #1 and she held onto so much water. You could have squeezed the juice by hand. Thus I used two small fans to help keep mold from forming.
I did the first Burp yesterday and I could smell her over 8 feet away.
I was definitely lower than that. Can that be a problem for curing? I may have to smoke faster…
Whoaaa haven’t heard that one in over 30yrs… it’s funny your tag is James . That’s the dudes name that used to do it. The two of use would go around in circles about that very subject. Me saying it’s worthless and him swearing upsidedown that I’m an idiot.
Imma guess your an older guy or you learned that trick from an old grower
Haven’t heard it in years or from anyone else but his son… Who still to this day hangs his plants the same exact way.
Thank you for the wonderful memory
I think I left mine on too long. I’m not getting any smell.
Actually I have zero knowledge. Bob Hope’s school of hard knocks. All the help has been from this community and I appreciate everything from all of you!!
Is there any way you can post pics? Changing shades of green some during dry and cure is normal. Brown is not.
Most marijuana in the burping stage will smell funky. Long as its not moldy. I can see the jar says 60% RH and that is perfect. Doesn’t look like you over dried.
The strain I just grew they recommend several Carbon filters to help combat the smell. You could have a 5000 sq foot home and still smell her all throughout the space.
I love the smell. No neighbors and no carbon filters. Rh went to low 50s.
Looks perfectly normal. The darker brown are untrimmed sugar leaves… those should be removed before jarring .
Okay. I have 6 more ready to kill. I’m just trying to hold off until my ac unit gets installed but I don’t think I can wait any longer and I didn’t want to risk anything after all this work.
They look good. Glad the rh got up to right %. Good job!
does it smell like hay?
